Yeah it's a very common procedure, although I've never seen a hoy nurse do it, and I never will probably =(
There's a very easy way to find anything wrong down there, just spreed your legs when you're standing up, grab your testicles from the bottom, you know, the lower part that is not balls but is not anus either, and follow the line in the middle with your index finger, all the way to your penis, if you feel a lil ball go to the doctor asap.

Once, I was in high school and this kid who acted all cool and was pretty popular, asked a very mean teacher to let him go to the bathroom but the teacher was like "no you're old enough to know when to go!" So the kid started to farm and he was wearing shorts, next thing I know he had poop'd his shorts and therefore the floor and a classmate shoes.
The kid didn't show up for 2 weeks, and when he came back he asked a teacher to leave him alone with the rest of the class, the teacher agreed because the kid was really sad and upset, and he threatened everyone in the classroom, and I doubt he was kidding
