I'm not sure if this is the correct section but I want to ask what model editing software should a COMPLETE novice in 3D modeling...
And anyone can recommend any websites to learn the basics?
Yes, I already googled and already found some sites... but I'm not quite sure which is which...

there are alot of guides and stuff for Autodesk Maya, but its hard to learn O.o

dont really know alot about these things but ive used a program called prodesktop before.dont know if its good or not :/

3d max -> easy to model and render quickly
solidworks -> easy to model, logical interface, harder to render

call me weird but only the Lightwave 3D interface makes sense to me.
but it's much less common than other softwares.

autodesk 3d max one of the popular 3d modelers, it has a million and 3 tutorial for it out there and a free trial
definitially get it, i like it myself, a bit confusing but rather simple once the main concepts have been understood

I also asked the same question on a game modding forum... and they recommended me
gMax and 3Dmax..
So I'll probably stick with 3DMax

I've been in the modelling things a while
I know a very simple program and is very user friendly called Sketchup;
http://sketchup.google.com
You can make houses in just 1 day, its amazing....
When you are good with Sketchup you can step over to 3DSMax 9
