Just wondering if you guys know any good songs that I could be playing right now? I'd love it if you could dig up some sheet music that I could print off along with it (or else I couldn't play it, hehe).
Recently, I got into an argument with my teacher, and we decided to let me play what I wanted to play, instead of Beethoven and Bach. While I respect the two composers, I never was a big fan of their music. Chopin and Liszt I love, and I'm really looking for a song in their style, but more modern.
In the past three days, I've learned these three pieces, and I absolutely love them:
Yiruma - River Flows In You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhN7SG-H-3k
Yiruma - Kiss The Rain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCSe66pWNmc
Winter Sonata OST - http://youtube.com/watch?v=S3lx5aVGHCM
It sounds wonderful without the lyrics as well. I'm not Korean, so I don't understand what the guy's singing about, but I remember growing up listening to this song over and over again. And I found the sheet music yesterday, and printed it off. It sounds great.
Anyway, that's about the kind of style that I'm looking for. Modern. Nothing older than three-four years. Preferably in some form of a Minor key, whether it be just plain Minor, or some Mode.
Skill-level related, I'm quite proficient, so don't be afraid to throw some harder pieces at me. I think most of you would be surprised.
Thanks, guys!

Sheet music. I got them from this site: http://cafe.naver.com/sungielove.cafe
I have perfect pitch, though, something I'm a little proud of, so I could learn it by ear as well. For the third song though (Winter Sonata), the lyrics often overlap the piano, so it's hard, so in most cases, sheet music is better than trying to learn it by ear.
ToLoseGT, I'm listening to them. Thanks. :] Second one is taking a while to buffer, though.
I'm off to bed, guys! It's a little after 12 here, and I'm going to the mall with my friends all day tomorrow. It's a student holiday! :] (Parent/Teacher conference day)

Wow awesome! I play the piano too, I'm alright... what Chopin pieces do you particularly like by the way? I haven't really tried too much of him but I like his pieces. Haven't really tried my hand at the nocturnes and stuff though, just a couple pieces here and there.

Thanks AAzumak for the awesome sig!!!

Haha, I played all three of those for the American Festival (some annual thing we do here) when I was 10 or 11. I hated them both, TBH, because at the time, I liked to play things super super fast, and especially with the Maple Leaf Rag, it's not supposed to be THAT fast. It's a rag. So I had a real hard time playing it slow, but I managed.
And anyway, way, way, WAY not my style.
Off to the mall. Bai, guys. :]
