Can not get past Intro

Post by AlanSmith »

Hi,

I've been wanting to play Silkroad for awhile, so I decided to download it, first issue I got was the "this client can be used after euro update" that was easy enough fixed just turned of my firewall.

The second problem was the ??? error, I fixed that to buy downloading all windows updates, having the latest nvidia driver 163 for the geforce 8 series.

Now my newest problem is this which I seem not to be able to fix. I load up the game by clicking start on the launcher, it gets to the intro video, and as soon as it gets over the boats it freezes, the music continues to play but the video just stops, I never get to the login screen. Now I was wondering does anyone have any idea how to fix it, I've tried with sound off, i've tried with different resoloutions, i've tried different brightnesses, even different languages, I've even tried letting it be the only program running and still no luck.

If anyone knows how to fix it please, please let me know.

Kind Regards,

Alan Smith

BUMP

I don't know if this helps any but last time I tried to load it, when the video froze i double clicked and I heard a sound like what would happen if you pressed a button ingame, so I think that the login screen has loaded behind the frozen intro.

EDIT: Alright, as soon as the client starts to show the video i click and it brings up server select, i select the server i want, then it goes to the login, now i fill in my details click connect and then it freezes, I've tried the thing about the language and that didn't solve it.

It's your video card. I had an ATI EAX550HM-512, which allowed me to play SilkRoad with hardly any computer lag (excluding Hotan, of course), after certain graphics update last year, I was unable to see the game login screen, and could only hear the background theme, I had to get a new card.

Also, the other day I had to uninstall a lot of crap because SilkRoad would freeze and/or give me an error alike with the '??????' one, I don't know if it happend due to lack of memory but try uninstalling useless stuff and games you don't play anymore, just a guess.
