Stupid Backup

Post by Innovacious »

Near my computer i have a cd spindle of over 100 disks which are mostly backup stuff from the past 3-4 years. Today i opened it to have a look only to notice almost everything apart from my last few backups isnt marked

over a hundred CD/DVDs with either nothing wrote on them or random crap i wrote because i was bored while making backups. One of them even says "I have no idea what is on this compact disk". Im never gonna find what i need :(

well, ive had 4 different computers since i started backing stuff up so i cant just keep it on the hard drive. And, whats the whole point of a backup? to back things up, if you keep it all on a hard drive and the drive fails all that stuff is gone, unless your lucky and you can save it, i wasnt so lucky with my last hard drive.

Also, alot of the stuff on the disks i dont use/need much, i dont want it clogging up my computer.

I found what i was looking for about 4/5ths of the way down the pile ,and after 3 restarts because windows kept crashing while trying to copy files from a disk that was scratched quite alot.

I bet you still need that pirated copy of sim city 2000 from 4 years ago.

I have one USB stick with school documents, a copy on my gmail account (mailed to myself)

All my disks I got with my hardware, one pirated Vista disk, one disk with pirated microsoft office 07 and pirated CS3 suite.

i have lots of disks of just stuff ive made in photoshop/3ds max/bryce/cinema 4d/visual basic/adobe primiere/flash. The majority of it never got shown to anyone, but i like to keep it to look back on.

I also have a hell of alot of pirated installers. One of the things i was looking for was a gta3 installer, lol. (lol, just found vice city as well)
