Botting became a habit ?

I made a char with the nick "iBOT" and running around handgrinding. Its lvl 40 now -.-. Never got a single pm of abuse from other players. I even globalled a few times. Nobody cares about this char, which is kinda sad how botting is becoming the norm and it shouldnt be.

No one cares about bots anymore. Accept it. All the older servers are full of lvl 80 chars not because people leveled to 80 by hand...but because they were botted.

Bots will never be banned; they purchase silk.

I believe that tSRO has an open bot server policy for one of its servers, and in another version of SRO I've heard Joymax sells gold. If Joymax sells gold and has an open bot policy, that would probably cure everything...except, no one would buy premium.

Mmm...a pickle indeed: catter to the 5 or 6 legits per server (SOME of whom MAY buy silk) or to the 400-500 player botters (all of whom are willing to buy silk since most are paying for their bots). From a buisness perspective, this isn't exactly a difficult choice.

Look at the image above if you don't believe, but GMs pm to check, it's just that in addition to the pm you get a notice.

The mass bans are just accumulated. There's going to be a mass ban in probably another two months, hence no monthly bans. Furthermore, they don't look at "modified clients" or else all "legits" would have been banned a while ago since pk editing is a modified/corrupted client or at least should be seen that way.[/quote]

well the thing is how could they know if its illegal program maybe its a media player + they constantly patch them so virtually anonymous thing for gm since its f2p the bot problem will never disappare

Players bots can use one of three, iSRO, tbot, or softmod. The third one has multiclienting, but it's limited to two characters only. If you are caught cracking the client to be able to multiclient more then you are banned from using it. Unlike Joymax, they actually have an active ban policy.

Gold bots though, have 20-40 bots per computer (not 100s as some claim). The software is available for free if you can read Taiwanese. But...100 of these people mean a crowded server.

the bot promt will b activated when it sees GM.
in many new servers people just make a char called GM_*** and bot thinks its a GM that makes many botters dc
