Cleric Skill "Overhealing" Very useful...or Trash?

Post by bigbamboo »

Have a Rogue/Cleric,since keeping both up is a pain in the *** with SP im wondering what does[Mortal Recovery Series] Overhealing do..Is it something like Ignore Monster defence that the angel wings has?

In the skill discripition it says this;

Deal absolute damage to target, disregarding its defence.

Ignoring is in my idea the same as disregarding.

Please share what u think it means and how to Calculate the probability of this happening.

Tnx,

I assume that rouge is your main. If that is correct I also suppose that you are pure str. In that case any offensive cleric spell is useless to you.

Overhealing

Post by bigbamboo »

It is not an offensive skill it does not do any damage.Let me Add a small detail to the discription and you will know why.

Description: Deal absolute damage to target, disregarding its defence.

Lvl 1:623 Absolute Damage
Lvl 2:857 Absolute Damage etc etc.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I dont see anywhere written for instance 100~200 mag att(%)..
So please elaborate more on this.
Thank you
Hmm, you are right, it has a debuff atribute. I' m really not sure about that skill, have to check it a bit more. Haven' t used it on my cleric sub, but I might give it a shot. I think it prolly ignores your enemies defence when you attack. :?
Debuff or what?
Post by bigbamboo »
Yeah,If indeed it ignores target defence thats a VERY NICE thing,I have a pure int s/s,whenever I grind on Niya Mages in Taklamakan I hit 13~15k per nuke,however when the Monster defence gets ignored I hit about ~30k per nuke..
Need more opinions so feel free to share..Not completely sure it is what it says but if it is,Its very important how to translate the Debuff thingie in % probabilities and how it plays its part.
Tnx
It's a great skill. It does what it says, absolute damage. Though if the target is far beyond your level, the damage drops.
What's great about it, is that strength build or not, it will do that exact same damage.
So...
Post by bigbamboo »
So....What about probabilities..Is there anybody who knows if this is a frequent thing or just the angel wings version of 1% chance to do absolute damage?
Over Healing is strong when you fight against int based people (or int based mobs). Other than that, you'd be best off with AutoAttack.
Nah. I'd say it's good against strength builds too. At level 30 (I believe) that skill will attack with 1k of damage. At that current level, I would dish out lower damage. Even though it's has a pretty slow cast time, I'd say it's a great opening skill in pvp or pve. If you like switching weapons a lot.
I'm a 2H sword user.
Bigbamboo, it is always frequent. It will always do the damage it says it does.
If it does 800 damage, it will always do 800 damage. But, if the player (or monster) is well above your level, the damage will drop.
Tnx for the answer but.There is something that confuses me.
Description: Deal absolute damage to target, disregarding its defence
lvl7:2964 Absolute Damage at mastery lvl 56.This u get at lvl 56.
Against a lvl 56 Pure str did you think 3k damage is anything at all?
Personally I find it hard to believe cause if this is the case I consider the skill Useless unless its damage over time(DoT)
3k takes off near half of a pure strength build's HP. A second would drop him around 1k. Which is a good thing that it has a cool down. You have to remember this skill was made for Clerics.
Clerics all ready have other great skills. Healing cycle, recovery division, glory armor, Offering, Bless Spell, and even more great skills to assure their life.
I think it's a pretty useful skill. But for a rogue as main, I doubt it'd be as useful for you. Just stick with the defensive skills Cleric has to offer.
.....the skill does what it says...It's a curse style skill that does exactly the damage written on anything if that person does not resist. It is a little useless on anything 5lvls above yours because they resist and you deal damage based on your attack power. This skill is not that good, but it will do 5k dmg at lvl 70, so maybe around 6-7k at lvl 80, making the cleric as strong as a chinese nuker... but doing this type of damage on even sun people. 6-7k dmg may be pretty bad against a pure str and ultimately it is pretty useless in 1vs1 situations vs str, but against nukers that + a cross spell and the nuker will be dead.
Not useless, but not very effective against str, you would be better off trying to somehow use offering.
The casting time and cool down for this spell is :banghead:
If you are a rogue and pure str, don't take this spell because as a rogue, you probably do good damage already. This skill is not needed.
As i already hinted at this spell is great late on in the game aginst other nukers, it ignores defence in that it does fixed about of damage, for a Pure Int cleric Holycross atk will do more than overhealing. However if your a rogue you wiill always have physical attacks that will do more... to int users.
