Will Joymax Shutdown iSRO? A concern.
Despite the fact that this forum is anti-bot (which is ironic because i wouldn't be surprised that the vast majority or at least a SIGNIFICANT % of people here bot anyway...) and you are anti-bot doesn't change the reality of the game.
I'm sorry, but no matter how you look at it, YOU are probably the minority (in that you plan to stick around until the 150 cap without botting....). It's quite evident from playing on the servers that the majority of people that actually stick around past 60 bot, no way denying it.
Of course i don't have statistics to back it up, but just thinking in logical terms, if bot players aren't the majority in generating income for JM, they sure as hell play a significant role. How can you compare someone who casually plays on weekends or something, who MAYBE has a pet, maybe a gt/premium (who will also most likely quit by 60 if they don't turn to botting anyway) to players who play this game all the way to 80 and beyond by botting, who most likely end up using a pet to pick up their stuff while botting, buy astrals/immortals to "pimp" their end game gear, get crap like wings in order to get every single advantage they can, etc etc etc...
In my opinoin, it makes more sense for a person who bots to 80 to buy more stuff because they devote (aruably) more interest into the game and therefore will do more than the casual player to reach their optimal potential...
You can't generalize this game to other games out there, this is the probaly the most heavily botted game i've ever played (although i'm used to P2P games like WoW and DAOC). Especially when it's clear that the majority of high-level players bot (and i'm not discussing gold botters at all, that's a whole different story).
It may be true that the ppl who bot to 80 end up just getting bored and leaving, but that's not before they spend all that money on silk/gold to pimp their character on the long road to get to there (as opposed to the casual player who plays to 40-60, realizes it takes an insane amount of time to reach cap and ends up leaving anyway... which is NOT uncommon at all).
P.S. Oh and by the way, two things, you shouldn't generalize people who bot as lazy, afterall, if someone gave you the choice to be able to level a character up while actually being able to do things in "real-life" that you enjoy as well, like going out and enjoying other aspects of your life (or even gee, working full-time maybe?) as opposed to having to dedicate all those hours to the game alone, i think the choice is quite simple. Lastly, you might want to consider how many people might not be even playing this game at all if botting weren't "available" to them in some form due to the sheer fact that this game takes an excrutiating amount of time to level passed 60.
Just my two cents... =)

Lets be honest here xD. Who in hell is even gonna make it to the 150 cap? I mean once you hit 80 and buy a premium ticket you still get .01 percent per kill... For those hardcore grinders out there it will take them as long as it takes me to level right now which is like a month or 2...No reply wrote:What will happen at the 150 cap (?) when joymax stops adding new features to the game? From what I have heard from higher level friends, there is really nothing to except pvp and jobbing once you are fully farmed, and have hit the level-cap. I know its mmo, and mmo's are supposed to be never ending games, but does it feel like you have "finished" the game when you finally hit level 150 ? Apart from that I think this game will be more and more bot-infested when they introduce the new level caps. You really think it is possible to level to 150 (or 140? ) as a human-being?
Personally I think its not a question if they will shut sro down, but when. But as I wrote in my last post, it probably wont happen in a very, very long time.

Not while BabyCuri, Zummm, PomPom, Albo, Mojo and SirShadowCat put all their kids through college.
P.S. DarkEden looks like shit. I think Ogre Tactics on the snes has better graphics and more appeal.
Alot of the European area's in sro look like Lineage 2 area's. They should just rip more and make a dark sro with more gore and.....dark stuff.

Hmm....
To be honest, i HATE botters. They make me very angry that they have to do no work to be high lvl.
But among most things, there aren't THAT many player bots.
If JM could just eliminate MOST of the botting, it would probably save the game. Gold buying f***s the economy. If that could be eliminated completely, then i think that SRO can be saved.
I do feel, that as long as they do NOTHING about ANY bots, the game is in a downward spiral leading to the death of a great game
Player bots aren't the problem, gold botting and gold buying is.

Making a long post about why sro woudln't shut down is an extreme amount of effort and I so can't be bothered for it, but putting it simply:
Silkroad makes money from everything they put out, everyone will always find a use every day to buy shit from the item mall even though they don't need it like the avatar hats cause they looked cool and think how much money they made from angel wings, i see them everywhere i go, hell I have one to.
Joymax makes a stupid amount of money from premium tickets, plus if you count the people that pay for gold tickets instead plus the skill tickets, plus a pet, plus a clock for the pet, plus gender changes, PLUS the absolute retarded amount of astrals and immortals that get bought via silk, you'd see joymax is making a very booming business silk wise and they are, by far no where near even going to think about shutting down their servers.
Every time they open a new server it's more money in their pocket, they have over 14 servers of 3k people in them at least and over at least 1k.-1.5k buy silk on a monthly basis imo. If you seriously think joymax is gonna shut down something they laugh all their way to the bank, you clearly must be on the most interesting crack i've seen in my life.
