id just thought id share this with you guys.
one of my really close friends just reviled that he was gay to his parents and his dad pretty much disowned him and now he is living with his older sister, his mom doesn't like that fact that hes gay but still loves him. i feel really bad for him for just being who he is and think its pretty fucl<ed up. he is a senior in highschool right now and when he graduates, he says hes gonna move out and get an apartment. i really hope that he ends up ok
what do u guys feel about this?

I think that it's incredibly sad that his Dad would do that to him. If I was gay, I know that my parents would accept me for who I was.
However, I think I can understand his Dad's position, especially if he feels this way because of religious reasons - I know that many of my Christian friends have problems with gays; one of them probably would even go so far as to single-handedly kill every gay person in the world if he could.
I guess it's just tough luck for your friend. He has my deepest sympathies: I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me, but I'm sure that he'll get through it, and become a better and stronger person because of it.

ya, thats what i have said to him, this situation will only make him stronger. he is very bright and is already preparing to go to ASU(Arizona State University) and major in business. i said to him that we should get an apartment together next year and i think that is what's gonna happen.

stop flamming now or its just gonna turn into a big flame war. if you want to argue about homosexuality, make a topic about it and we will discuss it in there.
to answer your question now, he is currently working and is planning to get student loans.

Nah, what will make you stronger is when your parents sell your house you've lived in your whole life because suddenly you're dirt poor. Then having your parents move out to Arizona, and leave you on your own 50 states away to get an apartment and fend for yourself. That's what happened to my friend anyway. Right out of high school, too.

i have no respect for anyone who takes it and likes it up the ass. you can call it love or w/e but its disgusting, disturbing and sick. Some people call it a sickness or disease. Why not start looking for a cure before theres to many of these perverts.

Because believe it or not, you'd be killing a good amount of the population of Earth that way.

Well I know personally if it was my only son and he told me he was gay, I'm not sure what I would do. I would probably blame myself for doing something wrong bringing him up, or blame other things for influencing him. I know it would definitely make me angry. Family and heritage is important to me, and having a gay son doesn't really help in that regard.

It would be a shame if you couldn't love your son for who he was. If i ever had kids (i plan on having alot) i don't really care how they turn out as long as i did the best i can in raising them i did my job. Besides you don't have to like someone to love someone

lol That's why I never said I would hate him. In my eyes, if you're the last son of the family you have an obligation to carry on the name. Deciding you're gay somewhere down the road is probably one of the worst ways to disgrace your heritage. Of course he could adopt, but it wouldn't be a blood descendant, the family would basically end there. I just can't see myself being OK with something like that.
