What would kids write up as a students bill of rights?

Post by devinarney »

Americans are stuck up brats. in my paper look at what i saw: "What would kids write up as a students bill of rights?" Read them! its terrible. dam brats. (the kids are 6th graders)

heres a few quots:

Children should get to drive at the age of 5. They dont have homework. They should not be grounded. They should be able to stay home alone at the age of 3. They would get to give teachers a lot of homework.

Kids should have freedom to not do homework. We kids should also have the freedom to get everything we want. We should have the freedom to play and have fun all day.

freedom for kids around the world. Law 1: No homework. Law 2: All pizzas are free for people 21 and under. Law 3: stay up as late as we want. Law 4: Longer summer vacations. Law 5: We party for one full month.

It would be cool to have a childrens bill of rights. We could be the bosses of our parents for a week. "Make food from the oven!" Drive our own car from here to there. We could have credit cards.Jobs we could have for example: docters, police, police, and work at the pizza shop.

wow. this is appalling. i cant beleive a 6th grader would think like this. what do you think about this? whats your opinon?

What I think about it? Not surprising. My opinion? There is small wonder why America is going into a future turmoil.

Thanks for generalizing Americans moron.

I believe any kid, of any race/nationality would say something like this.

Its only natural for a kid that age to despise homework.

Hohoho, oh contraire.

I think the no homework thing is pretty universal, but the rest of it is total bullcrap.

Its just kids, what do you expect. You cant extrapolate how they will act or think when they grow up. It may be a reflection of how things are in the typical American household (or at least a sample of where the 6th graders were), but thats about it.

Every kid dreams of doing this, no matter what country. It's when they grow up they realize how the world goes round. Hopefully you grow up to the point to where you don't say "Americans are stuck up brats."

We all know that children have a seriously impaired sense of judgement, and priority set on having the most fun possible. It definitely doesnt mean they are morons.

I would expect no less from a child living in any part of the world to think differently. Growing up expecting the world to be their playground is a good thing. Its just part of healthy childhood development.

Agreed.
I had the same assignment when I was in 8th grade, for American History. I wrote exactly the same thing.
Did I HONESTLY believe what I wrote? No. It was just something funny, and wishful thinking.

No one's actually ridiculous enough to believe that they could drive at the age of five. No one is ridiculous enough to believe that they should be able to stay alone at the age of three. At the age of three, you'd probably choke on a bottle cap, let alone be able to forumulate your own opinion that you should be entitled to "stay home alone".

Trust me. No one believes that. No one wants that. If a child seriously thought about it, I think most would want homework, as everybody desires a future. And besides, you don't have to do your homework. People choose to do it.
It's not even wishful thinking: it's just trying to be funny.

If Americans are so lazy, then why is the USA the strongest country in the world? Stop making sterotypes

But don't be a douche man, really.

I dunno, don't you think that their ideas are stupid though? And what's with their obsession over pizza?

You just made a "steriotype" I suppose. Saying USA is the most powerful country in the world.
But please, really don't say that. Because you can't really prove it, you could argue with it alot and stuff. Besides, all empires fall, and the US is on the decline.
I wonder what the next great empire will be?

... Why did you write that? Lol. Aren't you worried your teachers and everyone else for that matter is going to think you're retarded? You should be glad they didn't stick you in the remedial class (How do you spell remedial?).
But yeah, I see what you mean, I guess they weren't serious... Maybe.

Because everyone did.
Sadly enough, at some point in our lives, I believe most of us try to conform.
And yes, you spelled it right. It's remedial.

Yeah, if everyone did it you don't have to worry, it's not like they'll stick everyone there. And I"m sure at some point the teachers realized it was all a joke.
Conform? You mean like to the ways of society the way it is?

Yeah, I did that a long time ago. It would have been cool to have stayed innocent for longer though I guess... I dunno, I'm acting weird.

I just mean that I agree with you

Holy crap. Could you have used worse grammar? Anyways, back on the subject. I think its up to the parent or adults in the house to decide if a child should do his or her homework. Also, chances are those kids weren't serious. The assignment was for the kids to imagine what the kids would change. Do you honestly think a 6th grader would make laws restricting themselves from doing things that they've never been able to do before? I doubt it.

Oh, no, the teachers knew it was a joke from the beginning. We had a really cool AH Teacher, by the name of a Mr. Sommer. He had something wrong with his leg in his childhood, had it amputated, and then got a prosthetic with an American flag tied around it. He always wore long khaki pants to cover it up, but showed it to us on the first day of school, haha.

And yeah. The assignment was something along the lines of, "If you could create a personal Bill of Rights, what would you do? Please list ten things." Or something like that.

It's only natural for kids to write:
1. No homework.
2. No school.
3. No adult supervision.
4. Unlimited money and pizza.

Come on?

They are sixth graders, what do you expect? Didn't you not want homework and to be able to drive when you were in sixth grade? Did you expect something mature and well thought out? If so, that's stupidity on your part, sorry to say.
