It takes me about 35 seconds to launch after a reboot, 7 seconds to relaunch.
My specs:
Athlon 64 X2 3800+ @ 2 GHz
EVGA GeForce 7900 GS KO @ 500 MHz
512MB of PC2700 RAM
256MB of PC2100 RAM
1152MB static contiguous page file
I have Silkroad installed on a 7200RPM ATA-133 drive that I keep defragmented. I also have a 7200RPM SATA-300 drive that I just got, perhaps it would load faster off of that.
My base commit charge is ~115MB and Silkroad takes it up to ~420MB. My physical memory is definitely a bottleneck, I'm going to get a couple of PC3200 gig sticks soon and run them in dual channel.

On the contrary, my computer is sadly obsolete. The best processor for my socket is the Athlon 64 X2 4800+, but w00t, AMD completely abandoned 939 for AM2 and you can't even buy a socket 939 X2 4800+ anymore.. But forget about dual core, because now we have quad core. My motherboard doesn't even support DDR2, while DDR3 is already here. Additionally, my motherboard cuts down to x8 on both PCIe slots in SLI mode. Speaking of video cards, I'm having a hard time finding another 7 series card to drop in for SLI because now we have 8 series cards and DX10. But dual-SLI is a thing of the past. Now you can have quad-SLI, and if you can't afford that you can at least get a couple of dual-GPU cards.[SD]Rainigul wrote:My computer is just terrible, and you guys all have super badass hero champion unique giant computers.
So you see, each upgrade I make to this computer is a loss because nothing that I upgrade will be reusable.
My recommendation is to wait until 2020 to buy a new computer, because that is when conventional processors will finally stop progressing. Until then get used to the thought that no matter how much you spend on a new computer today, it will still be completely obsolete in less than 2 years.

5 seconds first time
about 3 seconds afterward.
the loading screen for town takes about 5 seconds the first time, and then aftewards i barely see it just kinda flashes past it.
for some reason i crash a lot when i res back in town constantly, like for delvling i crash about every 10 deaths sometimes, and other times i can go a whole day without it happening. **** the client.
