Chances are they will make a new MTYH, or Marathon game.

I think it´s obvious that the new trilogy is going to be based on the Halo books
At the end of last Friday, Sony finally gave British gamers what they really, really wanted for Christmas--a price cut for the PlayStation 3. Originally priced at £425 in the region on its launch on March 23, the console had remained at that price since then despite price cuts in Japan and North America.
The new Value Pack, which will go on sale from October 10, will feature two first-party games, plus a "fully-functioning" 60GB PlayStation 3 for £349. Alongside the price drop news, Sony also announced the introduction of a 40GB SKU, which would go on sale alongside the 60GB version for £299, giving consumers a choice. The 40GB model would, however, not be backwards compatible with PlayStation 2 games.
For many, the extra £50 may have seemed worth it with two free games, 20GB more storage space, and full backwards compatibility. For others, the cheaper price point of the 40GB version may have made it more enticing--especially if they didn't fancy any of Sony's first-party titles currently on offer.

A week jam-packed with Nintendo news was overshadowed today by an announcement that sent shockwaves through the North American game industry. Thursday afternoon, top publisher Electronic Arts announced that it will acquire VG Holding Corp., owner of BioWare/Pandemic.
VG Holding Corp. was formed in late 2005 when esteemed Canadian role-playing game studio BioWare formed the aforementioned "superdeveloper" with Californian shop Pandemic Studios. The union was funded by Elevation Partners, a venture capital firm with rock star Bono on its board, and brokered by then-Elevation board member John Riccitiello, who became BioWare/Pandemic's CEO.
At the time, the deal was seen as a break from the traditional developer-publisher relationship, which sees the former beholden to the latter for funding. However, when Riccitiello returned to his old job as EA CEO, many wondered if the move might presage a takeover bid of BioWare/Pandemic. These suspicions were further raised when EA agreed to distribute the Pandemic shooter Mercenaries 2: World in Flames under its EA Partners program.
When the BioWare/Pandemic deal was announced, Elevation made much of the fact the union represented a "combined investment" of more than $300 million, including future funding. Today, the company got a massive return on said investment, with EA paying $620 million in cash to the stockholders of VG Holding Corp. In addition, the publisher will issue an additional $155 million in equity to unidentified VG Holding employees, as well as assume $50 million in outstanding VG stock options, and will lend VG $35 million to fund the transition.
Yesterday, a teaser trailer appeared on Capcom's Web site for a new addition to the Street Fighter series. Around 10 years after Street Fighter III: The New Generation slammed into arcades, the video announced that a sequel--Street Fighter IV--would finally be coming.
At the Capcom Gamer's Day in London, Capcom's European head of communications Ben LeRougetel also showed the media ensemble crammed into the cinema at the Courthouse Hotel Kempinski the trailer, which was met with gasps of surprise and rapturous applause.
Introducing the short teaser, LeRougetel said that there was not a lot he could say yet about the title. He told the audience, "Development on this project has only just started, so its release will be more than a year away."
You'd think a man who was made a millionaire several times over by the Chuck E. Cheese pizza chain wouldn't be judgmental. However, Nolan Bushnell, the founder and onetime head of said pizzeria/video game parlor franchise and the once-mighty publisher/console-maker Atari has issued a scathing statement about the current state of games.
"Video games today are a race to the bottom. They are pure, unadulterated trash and I'm sad for that," Bushnell told the tech magazine Electronic Design in an at-times fiery interview. Bushnell did not single out any games in particular, nor did he name any companies or platforms as being prime offenders.
Despite his blanket statement, Bushnell's most recent venture has games at its very center. Some 31 years after he sold Atari to Warner Bros.--which went on to make billions on the 2600 home console--the serial entrepreneur has founded uWink, a restaurant where each dining table is equipped with touch-screens offering a host of causal and "social" games.
gameplay wise they are compared to old games. I remember playing games for months/years at a time and they didnt have multiplayer, that was just single player. Now, singleplayer games dont last me that long atal and most of them dont really have much replay value.
