Ok my first post and first question - color me a n00b.
I've been playing for a few weeks have a Warrior build that i started learning on.
I just rolled a char the other night and started her with bow then at lvl 8 i trained my first Wizard spell and switched over to attacking with fire. At least i thought.
I have all Wizard armor on (cloth) yet still get the message stating I have something on that prevents me from using the spell.
I have a staff too. Says Cleric staff but doesn't indicate it's Wizard lvl 1, Cleric Lvl 1, etc like the armor does.
What's wrong here?

Maybe you should try a wizard staff (don't now the exact name) instead of a cleric one, browse through the npc weapons vendor and look for the wizard staff.
Cleric staff --> cleric
Wizard staff --> wizard
