Getting player bots is going to get you no where...
It's the gold bots that affect the game and are causing serious
problems with it.

Hmm i don't really intend on going hard core anti bot, too much work, but catching a few would be good,

cheaters shouldn't be on top, the gold bots dont' effect me when i'm on the job, though they do effect my grinding and that makes me mad alittle, but it bothers me more that some one cheats to be more powerfull, mercury and mars will decay into chaos like the other servers, but perhaps i can at least make it less chaotic

if you forfeit then its the same as loosing

and a botter is some one who has given up, I'd hate to get killed the looser

actually here is a good way to do it...tag your vids silkroad such that when people do a search via their website, they get to see your vids
Like on the main sro site there is a link that says "watch silkroad on youtube!" <---- right there if your vids come up maybe joymax will do something

you could also try to get two or more bots in a set of screenshots / videos

If you really want to campaign against anti-bots...choose your targets wisely and make your efforts worth the time...

ie. research from each server the top 5 - 10 players who have full sun etc...and check if they bot...get them banned

u do that and everyone probably thank you for it since those jealous folks won't complain about full-sun botters anymore

it'll also make people fear da "Bot Buster" rofl

I admire your determination for doing this DiabolicBow and will say GL with it ( not in the sarcastic way ), but SRF has turned into a bot supporting place now like fly said and the majority of replies will only be negative towards u =p

Trying to do something is good. And it is true that if you keep reporting someone that they will get banned if they bot again. I am guessing that the reports tag "people to watch" for Joymax.

Sometimes what happens though is that someone bots their character to a high level and then stops botting. So unless they bot again once the cap is raised they aren't going to be banned. They may even try to pass themselves as a legit and that can be very disheartening and disturbing.

So you are probably going to have both successes and failures on your quest. Just don't lose hope.

Dismissing an action as being a waste of time does not mean that the person's view is condoning botting. At some early point in our sro experience, most legits have tried in some way to assist in the war against bots. I remembered back in sparta we used to make a list of all the bots we saw, get screenshots and send them to JM to flag them, so JM would investigate. The fact that JM is so "understaffed", none of these players got banned. Its disheartening. But thats the reality.

Ultimately its up to JM to ban any botters. If they so wish it, they could do regular mass bot bans. It doesnt take a genius to identify chars that are botting, and ones that arent. But you just have to be there to witness it.

Shaming and stigmatising botters on this forum would certainly satisfy the fiery legit players, but if that would be the main pastime, what kind of community will we be. We are gamers, not game moderators employed by JM. We play sro for the fun of it, though we try try try to make it a better game, a better atmosphere for gaming, and end up being frustrated over and over.

I personally couldnt care less anymore with how sro has turned out now. To my defense, it isnt because I accept botters, but because I accept the shitty game as it is, and making the most fun I can out of it before I quit playing. I dont see myself playing sro forever, and my time is best spent productively.

Certainly what we have now isnt ideal. But meh, what do I know. So you can continue your crusade. But just because so many dont applaud your actions, doenst mean they are botters.

RuYi is right on this one youtube video wont stop botter, jm doesnt care about them, well they ban the one they dont like, those who arent buying silk. Who on earth would ban people bringing money in their business? :roll:

gawd they make announcement before ''bot ban'' to make sure customer will change their files and save their sun.

only thing jm could do is ban goldbot, they create server traffic, wich was a problem to them before, but they added premium.

the idea is good but wont work, it's like saying you,ll feed everyone in third world country by cooking pie in ur kitchen...
