Am I the only one who dislikes this rule?

Yes, it is illegal in most countries but it's widely accepted in society. IRL you talk about it with anyone, although it's illegal. So I just don't understand why it's prohibited on an internet forum...

I have even seen a mod (no names mentioned) helping a guy to get a program for free, but of course he did it in a pm. Kind of ironic. Maybe the rule is still there because this forum is old and all the rules haven't been looked over and updated if needed.

Really? You know it's not illegal to post a link to a illegal download. It's just illegal to download.

And I don't see how this little forum would get taken down before pirateb**.com or some other big downloading site.

You want have a thread dont you whit links there you can only click on it , well is only for you to google if you want have some illegal stuff . But even if some talk about it dont means some want have links in a forum or other website uh. BTW : can be virus and other bad stuff ,even on the links.

Crackz

Crackz are the illegal way of bypassing software protection which attempts to prevent software piracy.

A crack is basically a small program which allows you use software illegally. Using software in this way is also theft.

MP3's
MP3s are both legal and illegal. It is legal when the song's copyright holder has granted permission to download and play the song.
However it is illegal to distribute or trade MP3s without permission from the song's copyright holder. So downloading a song from the internet without the permission of the copyright owner, is completely illegal./

oh so evryone do it, nope ........ hmm how can it be ACCEPTED when is illegal all know it ,but well you dont say you download a video from the internet to who made the film. if they see on the internet they can close the site and some other thing you want it ?Even if some talk about it dont means you can take it or is ACCEPTED from the owner.

I agree with the link part, I don't see how SRF will get in trouble by posting links.

If you put it that way, yes.

But if someone post a Math topic or I love my sister topic they don't get flamed and I don't think anyone would flame me if I was searching for a certain movie or something.

you can download any game off the net for a 24 hour evaluation time you by law need to delete after then

you can download the game from the net as long as you own the game in rl even if its a old broken disk and you dont have the console to use it

im sure some of that applys to movies and music i dont know but i just thought it was relevant

So say if somebody post a crack or Photoshop or something, how do you or I know that its virus-free and even key-logger free? If and when you get hacked through the softwares you downloaded off here its SRF who you'll blame, you definitely wont' be blaming yourself like you would if you got it off Emule or something. These are the exact type of things we don't want to see here.

In the past we've had some people post "useful" and "fun" little programs they've made, and it looked harmless. It wasn't even a bot or anything related to SRO game play. Turns out it was a keylogger and its done us some damage.

This is a game forum where people come to talk about SRO, among with other community related things. I'm sure a lot of us download pirated mp3s, books, comics, mangas, animes and softwares. You may keep those resources to yourself and go to the appropriate sites for that purpose. As for here we don't want any resource-sharring here.
