Ads
This site is so damn useful, I'd hate to see it fall victim to it's own success. If there were to be ads on the lefthand side under Affiliates (google ads) I'd click them.

Ads aren't that intrusive whatsoever, especially google ads which can be changed to fit a layout. When you have such a large, supposrtive community, it'd be foolish not to. Besides, most people ignore things under "Affiliates" anyway unless it's soemthing they recognize (i.e. google ads)
I say why not, the worse thing that can happen is that a large percentage of the population won't like them, at which point you can choose to remove them, and you'll have made a few dollars, if not more.

I have google ads on another site.
Heres the problem.
Its a warcraft site.
99% of the ads google gives me are gold buying ads.
Add them ALL to the filter (hundreds) and theres nothing left for google ads to list.
Seriously, I think you would see the same here.
Also, "silkroad" doesnt generate very good google ads.
If you look around "silkroad" sites that have google ads, they have nothing to do with the game. More or less silkroad in china, silk products, and so forth.

And you're under the assumption that people actually click google ads for a site they love because they want to see the product, why?
