Seal weapons are generally more expensive then regular plussed weapons. And SoM lvl 8 would be great farming bow at the den to farm skill points needed to make characters higher levels. There is great disscussion in the link I posted about str glaives, you should be able to find al your answers there from those who have built this or are currently building it. For a first character it is hard to get gold for a good weapon till around lvl 42ish when more are available and you understand the stall system.
