As long as you stay on your transport, does it matter what class you are?

Say, for example, a full int vs a full str on an oxen. Vs NPC thieves & normal thieves, would the oxen take the same dmg?

Your oxen takes the damage based upon what is hitting it. The npc thief is gonna hit the ox for less damage then a player thief would hit it for. Generally a player capped can 4 nuke an ox to death. That is because like you the player has buffs, blued gear, good weapons, and the npc has well npc gear.

If you are riding you are most likly not buffed when you hit the ground you will be slow and will have no buffs running so you will go die quickly.

If you hunters can kill the thieves plus keep you protected it doesnt matter what build you are as long as you can summon the ox and know where you are going.

additionally the hp/defense is a set number on the transports, it doesn't change no matter what build you are, nor level. The exception is the item mall elephant, its hp changes according to your level.
