PHPBB 3.0 - Olympus
http://www.phpbb.com/about/features/

There has been a lot of suggestions lately concerning mod packages and forum features.

Subforums, reputation, birthdays, moderator features, and other adons.

I am reluctant to make any moves at this time, anticipating the stable release of PHPBB 3.0.

Do note, mods designed for PHPBB 2.022 will not be compatible with 3.0

Right now its in the development stages, but rumored to be a stable release in the near future.

SRF will be updating to PHPBB 3.0 eventually. Any mods or customizations will be lost, or have to be recoded.

So in the meanwhile, sit tight and drool over the new Olympus release with me.

On an unrelated note,

STOP POSTING GARBAGE THAT DOESNT BELONG IN THE SITE DISCUSSION FORUM

IMO some mods should be offer ban powers aswell. Not the full admin powers, but enough to ban someone if it's needed, such as the recent case with FluxFire, if you know about it.

I don't think ban powers as sui is very active, but I think mods should have profile editing powers.

profile, ban etc are all functions found in the adminstration control panel to give them to mods isnt as easy as a tick box you would need to write code to allow them to access these pages without access to the whole lot

I really hate phpBB3, as do many people, the main reason i don't like it is because the feel, browsing a phpBB3 forum sucks, and i avoid it as much as possible, and the way some features are made is stupid, also themes on it look odd.

It would be cool if you just changed the system of this forum, but i would suggest keeping the same theme and layout, or it WILL look bad :(

Yes, it wouldn't stop anybody from coming here, but it's great the way it is now :)
But do it if you think it's best :)
