Yeah so how much math do you really use at work
so like what level of math (i.e trigonometry, calculus)
cause I take a lot of math because my dad says its good for you
and I'm sure it increases your creativity but I don't see any practical uses for it

If I were a math (or logic) teacher, my class would be assigned "A Mathematician Reads the Newspaper" by John Allen Paulos. There is so much misinformation in the media stemming simply from a lack of knowledge of basic math. Stuff that is provably incorrect gains momentum because people don't have the skills to solve simple math problems for themselves. I haven't read "Innumeracy : Mathematical Illiteracy and Its Consequences" but I suspect it is equally as valuable.
As for my job, I'm not an engineer or an architect, but I have to do math all the time. I can do the simple equations myself but I rely on software to perform the complicated functions.

well actually it is very important that you touch up all the time on your math skills ,
I work in the real estate business doing sub-prime (people with less then average credit scores / Reverse mortgage loans , and all the time I am calculating what APR Interest rate they will be paying on, there debt-to-income ratio(if they make enough money to keep there new mortgage payment , there LTV(Loan-to-Value %,( take the balance on there mortgage , add up any tax liens , other loans against the property , and devide it into the value of the home ) aswell as the points we charge on the front and the back of the loan , closing costs , document fee's and what not , so day by day I find myself using math more and more.
Math is the shit!
