nope...

I have bootleg cs3 suite, microsoft office 2007, limewire pro, and hundreds of movies.

y are you using limewire

free music

last time i typed a song in on limewire 10 obvious viruses came up followed by several files which had nothing to do with what i typed and the ever popular "____ prank calls <insert celebrity>" file...that place is a cesspool

I've never picked up a virus through mp3, and I only use it for hard-to-find artists.

TBH, I downloaded it yesterday morning to download patrick watson albums. I couldn't find them on pirate bay, and I haven't used other torrent sites. Just now, I tried mininova and found both his albums  *uninstalls linewire*

 mininova, Pirates Bay hasn't been what it used to be for awhile...i use limewire for songs that are common and should be well known but for rare songs believe it or not i actually find myspace more useful...ppl often make a whole music page just to put up a song that i otherwise wouldn't be able to find on limewire and wouldn't fee like downloading a whole album for...

- No random slowdowns/system locks/or crashes
- Improved performance. :]!!

iv got xp and im gona keep xp until otherwise i have no choice to upgrade

few reasons its less demanding, cheaper to buy which i prolly wont need to do as i have xp discs, easy to use, mainly dude to vista been made for beginners rather then seasoned computer nerds, overall imo more reliable as its been going for a while now

It did when it was released. I haven't had any problems with it at all. Infact, I installed it on my desktop too.

I think the problem is that people are using bootleg copies, or don't know how to install it properly.

There's also hardware requirement. Any rig without 2gb of ram or more will not be able to handle vista + software (read: video games, media editing tools, etc.)

Vista has plenty of issues. It was released WAY before it was ready, even AFTER considering that Microsoft pulled a TON of features out of Vista before releasing it. Before the release of Vista was announced, they even said they were going to release SP1, I believe, in the Fall 2007. So in that case, they were planning some major fixes before even releasing Vista for the first time... So what does that tell you?

Even on modern, high-end systems, Vista still has problems. There's a known problem with Vista where (maybe depending on configuration) Vista has a hard time saving files out to a network share. We got a couple brand new laptops here at the office with Vista on them. They're at least dual core with 2 gigs RAM and a decent sized SATA hard drive. When you create a file, say a Word document, and try to save it to a network share (i.e., \\server\share\path\to\MyFile.doc), Vista will claim that the parent folder (in this case "to") does not exist and prompts you to create it... even though "to" exists.

In order to fix that, you have to do a registry hack that Microsoft posted in a knowledge base article. And no, these aren't bootleg copies or anything. They're purchased, company-owned laptops fully licensed.

I'd say Vista has some issues. The OS runs pretty quick when it's actually behaving, but it does lock up a bit. Put XP on those, and they will FLY!

I've never had any problems with my two vista PCs, and the network they're on. However, I made sure to patch right away to get all the fixes that came out since release.

All I hear are the same complaints that XP had. I think people just need to give it time to get patches up.

Have you tried saving to (or creating) a file, from Vista, onto a share that's hosted on Windows Server 2003? Or did you just network Vista <-> Vista?
