SRO Job system
Unique from other MMORPGs, silkroad is known for its triangular conflict, we all know that. To be honest i enjoyed the old system a lot more being able to go all three jobs was fun.
I am currently a thief and there are barely any hunters or merchants out there, even if there is they are most likely to be doing 1* trades. Im sure that most merchants and hunters are converting into a thief and if you walk out DW gates you'll see serveral thiefs and no hunters/merchants, im sure that soon the entire game will be ruled by thieves.
I dont think there is anything unique about this game anymore, its similar to all other MMORPG's.
Agree?
edit/ it costs money to change job and alias, and its not even cheap.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OT Question.
Regarding this thread:

People are saying that many murderers are appearing in Xian. People say that those wearing a different cape colour than yourself now appear with red names like ksro, is that really true? ... If it is this game is screwed up even more.

Job wars aren't just guild vs guild or friend vs enemy anymore.
lol come to venice i highly disagree with your statement. Eventually everyone finds out who everyone is and everyone doesnt feel like forking over 3.5mil to change their alias so in the end its the same guild vs guild
Want to play Jade Dynasty and get a bunch of free stuff?

Copy that code and paste it in the box when you make a new character.
Jobbing is now much better than b4 update. But on our server DW east is crowned by hunters =/.Thiefing is hard bcoz there isnt many traders to rob and if u find one theres like 10 sosun hunters protecting the trader with mercs on so its almost impossibe to rob them.Once i just ride around the whole map for 1 hour and found like 4-5 traders all under 40.And like after other hour found lvl 60+ trader and i robbed him.And yes it was nice to switch with jobs but the job exp was horrible.

thx for being quitters bunnies
Still can only happen if the guild with a conflict with you is on the opposite job.
They can't just put on Thief cause they hate you and you're in hunter.

I personally love the new update, as a trader I can actually make gold, and with the hunters earning gold, they actually will stop grinding to come help. The thieves still get me 2/10 times I go but that is the job system. being able to trade without going thru a ferry is freaken awsome, that alone saves my trades usually.
The update has changed my trader style though, it seems that most of the thieves are still stuck in the "I gotta pop" mode.
With two more root towns and three trader posts there are over 40 possable trade route combinations instead of pre-euro where it was only 3 routes.

My pride and joy CrazySuby is no longer mine. She is and always will belong to Dutchy.

I missed the ability to quickly changed jobs at ferries. Was useful to steal from thieves, being a thief myself <.<
The new job update though is forcing players in union to take sides (we like to go jobbing as a union). Had an interesting altercation a few weeks ago when members of the union I'm in thieved our trading convoy. It resulted in the guild being kicked out (cause we found out after they initially lied about their identities) and they were unapologetic about what happened thinking its funny to thief a convoy after having insider info about its whereabouts (from union chat).

You guys JM added the new Job system because its what SRO was made for, getting a Hunter to protect you instead just relying on your 1* trade, its more fun doing multi star trades anyway. If the triangular system was just based on doing 1* trades and not having Theifs get a chance to do anything, the game would be like any other MMORPG. I have tried MANY mmorpg's and SRO's job system is what keeps me at SRO because it makes it more unique than any other mmorpg.

Well its not all thieves on Xian, you'll be supprised how many hunters there are now. Im thief. and i have to say recently we are outnumbered at east gate dw. Last night for example there were us 4 thieves against 8-10 hunters, and they spawned mercs (dont ask me why its a hunter thing
)... so there is an ok balence atm.
What i dont like about the new system is the lack of traders. IMO there shud be a massive advantage profit wise for a trader (over 40 or multi) when they succesfully complete a trade run, than there is at the moment. This would hopefully make alot of people think 'to hell with this im gonna be a trader'... thus giving the two other jobs more to do.
Me and the regular thief gang on xian spend alot of time searching and hoping we will find someone doing a trade we can attack... when it goes from mins to hours without finding anyone we start to get bored. The sytem is unique in this game and i think JM should take advantage of this and make it FAR more active and enjoyable.

I like the new job system. Sure, it was fun to be able to hop the ferry and switch jobs at times, but people took advantage of that (pretending to "hunt" for a trader so you can hop the ferry and rob them).
I think perhaps the only thing the job system needs is the ability for guildmates and unionmates to see each other. Maybe the client could show you the other player's alias in gold/green if they're in your guild/union, and everyone else white. This would still allow aliases to be secret (kind of) but let you know if that person is "on your side" even if they're in an opposing job.
It's not necessarily a bad thing if you kill a guildmate if you both want that. You could go out on a trade run and challenge guild thieves to come jack you. But at least with the alias color update, you'd know if your target is a friend or not.

I love the new job update as well. People now have defined jobs and without the switcherooing it makes the jobs a lot more interesting.
Troy is mostly composed of traders + hunters. Thieving is hella fun
