Soccer (Football)

Well, have my teams first football game of the season today. We look like bumble-bees in our kit >_< And I swear we are going to get slaughtered, nobody on my team seems to understand the concept of football they all just follow the ball around.

Steal the soda of the opposition and thou shall drain the vitality from them! And most of all: do not let your soda be stolen. Then, your team can follow along with the ball as long as they want. You will come out on top lol

get tactics, train on position in play, finishing, passing. And give them some manual to learn the basics :p

We basically had try-outs thursday, half the decent players from last years team decided not to play at all after they saw the quality of the tryouts. When asked for what positions they liked playing 80% of them said defense.

Only thing I'm decent at is set pieces

But I have #16, so hoefully Keano will help me captain my team

in football you have to be fast, and not so strong. you only need strenght to give the ball to a friend or to make a goal ( i dont know how it is in english, i think its goal

) but if you are very fast, you make fast movements, fast passes, then you will have a lot more chances of winning.
Oh, and i suggest you to play 3-4-3, with a offensive strategy. If you can make a point (?) in the first minutes that will help you, it makes the other team to be more defensive so they wont make you many goals.

actually i like 4-3-1-2.
and its not much a matter of strength giving you the edge, its more of a matter of size.

all of high school most soccer players i played with were about 5'6 or 5'7ish and im about 6'1 so i had an edge over them, and with speed, psh good game.

notice how a lot of the top fifa ranked teams in the world have an average player height of 1.80m or more :!:

Well, we lost 2-0.
We did a lot better than I thought we would, and only scored 5 minutes from the end. The second goal, I cleared the ball off the line with my hand, obviously I got sent off, and they scored from the penalty

But hey, I had to take one for the team. We were all VERY unfit after the summer and as we've only had one training session, none of us had very much stamina, but we can only get better

lol the english are just mad... they forget the other goal in that game, which was the goal of the century. Not our fault the refs missed the call too.

We play in the stoddert league, and yes it is sad, but most of them have never really played soccer before XD We only have 7/8 decent guys/girls on the team.
