Error 308 help

When i run the game it says "error 308 can not connect to update server" i have not got a firewall sure. I tried to reinstall and redownload the game but it still doesn't work. Is there any patch

same thing here.. i have been playing fine for the past 3 days.. but the first day i installed the game ran once and when i rebooted i kept getting error 308.. so i uninstalled sygate personal firewall and it worked with the built in windows firewall for a few days.. today i was playing and i got a nasty bsod and my comp crashed mind you this only started since i have been playing silkroad my comp never crashed.. so now i get error 308 again.. and another thing that really has me ticked off is.. whatever silkroad or gameguard did that fatal crash has now corrupted my main hard drive now i need to buy a new one..

i edited the hosts file and all that to no avail.. so basically gameguard works when it wants to.. its wierd because when it works it does its thang then i get an error window saying silkroad crashed.. i hit o.k and the game still launches.. talk about weird.. they should do away with that gameguard atleast till the game is out of beta.. because it isnt helping at all.. they act like hackers cant hack gameguard.. if all it does is read the running processes the makers of silkroad is stupid cuz you can change the name of a running process to anything you like..

I had problems with error 360 at one point. I read somewhere these gameguard errors are caused by it updating incorrectly. Try going into the programfiles/silkroad folder and delete the gameguard folder, then run the game and it should reinstall itself.

i dont think those things store any acct info.. i think the same thing for some reason that its kinda corrupt..

you can use a firewall.. but for some reason you can use a firewall like lets say if gameguard has to update cuz then it get blocked somehow and you have to reinstall the game with your firewall off.. but like they say mostly firewalls are the problem..
