In general need help with my character

Okay well this is my first post :]

But anyways back on topic, im on Xian server under the character named Remuss. Im level 18 spear user. Now ive read guides but not before i made my character. When i was lower level i would always do 2:1 (2 into str and 1 into int). At 15 i started doing all str, now that im 18 im doing 2:1 again.

I do cold/lightning masteries and throw some extra points into healing. I never buy upgrade gear unless it has +1 str or +1 int atleast or better on it. Mostly +1 int because this makes up for my loss of intel but now im doing the 2:1 ratio thing but still buy the gear that has +1 on it.

My question is am i going the right way with my character? Should i be using a different weapon other than the snake spears? Also what kind of spears are good for higher levels, like what spears are out there? Should i switch to a new weapon?

Also is it good for me to mix my armors? Like i use a variety of protector gear and armor gear.

hmm, just one question for ya..... why are you using a spear with a STR
based char? i assumed glaive would be the better way to go.

oh, and i mix my armors up religiously. basically i go looking for stuff that's
armor or protector, but whichever happens to have the highest stats,
bonuses, etc, at the time.

i wasnt really sure, i always liked the way spears looked and they are relativly cheaper than glaives :] When i made the character i had no glue what to do.

So really glaives would be the best for me?

first of all, im new too... so i may be wrong... but from what i understand

spears/ swords are more magically inclined... therefore weapons like glaive/blade are better for str builds

correct

as your build is more in favor to strength you should be using a glavie. Using a spear wont hurt, you just wont get the same numbers.

mixing armor is fine unless its a garment. Garments dont mix with anything.

Some will say youre not going the right way with your character because you arent 100% in one style and supposedly hybirds are frowned upon.

Pay no attentiont o them if you feel your character is working. if you feel like youre not doing to well then make some altercations to become who you want to be.

My first character was a Hybird just because i didnt know how the game worked and i did the same as you.

If there wasnt a rollback id still be using it because it did still kick ass.

i say, as long as you enjoy playing your char its a perfect build

i just got the resurrection skill for my pure str glaive/ice fighter

i gess my healing skills will be pretty useless later on. but i dont think these few sp spent in force will hurt me when ill need xxxx sp for a single new skill at higher lvls.

Do you guys think i should switch to using glaives? I mean I guess i am a str build even though 2:1 ratio is hybrided basically isnt it? The only reason i use a spear for my build is because:
1. I found alot of +2 or +1 spears for cheap
2. My level 18 spear actually dropped off a white tiger so i decided to use it.
3. All my other friends from Muketsu and wTs (guilds) all use spears on their chars and they put into all str so i thought that was the right way to go.

But really am i going to see a big problem later on with my 2:1 ratio (2 str, 1 int) later on in the game? If so is it too late to switch to just all into strength?

Really the hit of int doesnt bother me much all my gear has +2 int on it lol.

I couldnt tell you how it will work out down the line because there are too many variables to make a definate 100% proven conclusion.

You may be owned because you wont hit as hard as some
But you will have more strength than others
Use less of a certian pot than others
Have different attack setups
etc
etc

Best theory i could put to you now is to just considder your performance now and just imagine your clothes look better and you have like 1000 more HP/MP and considder that to be you at a higher lvl

So basically i should stop my 2:1 and just go all strength? But the big question is should i switch to glaive as a cold/lightning user?

Im not telling you to do anythign as its your choice and i dont make a habbit of controling other peoples hobbies. strength is accented by glaive and intelligence with spear. dont ask me why thats just how it gos. doesnt mean they are 100% dedicated to each other. they just perform better in the respective hands (supposedly)

personally i think a little bit of hybird is required to an extent but ive never gotten past lvl 30 without starting a new character for some reason or other. ask around a bit more if you like

Yah i guess im just confused on actually what i should do. Because i have gotten mixed reviews from different people on what i should.

But if you where me would you start going all str and go with a glaive?

well right now i am full strength with glaive and fire
seems to be working for me but i need more int because my skills are draining the bar so quickly. so im gonna add some int then power through back on strength

ijust just retired from sp farming and the game is starting to get interesting again.

im spending so much money -_- *headache*

Well yah that was my next question, since im an all str build would it hurt my character much if i took like 2 levels and and did a 1:2 ratio and than go back to all str for a couple of levels?

well its only 4 character points
worst comes to worse you will come a draw with someone 2 levels lower than you when it comes to the size of your health... *shrugs*

i dont see it hurting that much..

i play the game to kill mobs, not other users. so i dont particularly care about the pvp stats.

*but i did kill my first murderer on my Yaris account tonight >_<

Alright thanks so much Ziggy :] Im gonna experiment and buy a glaive, gotta save a few thousand though seems most good glaives are very exspensive. Is there any i should be on the look out for? certain stats?

Try find a theif hook glaive with some +str or something like that.
if its not blue, make sure its high critical damage
