HYBRID euro wiz

Post by TemJiN »

would this even work on Euro going hyb? im to the point where i wanna give up cause i die too much :banghead: and most of the time i do solo. i was thinking either put more str (1str 2int) or go cleric and drop bard as a sub and wear light armor. this is just becoming more of an annoyance than anything.

All euro wizards should go full INT, they have no sorts of physical attacks unless you'd like to put in STR for HP wise, other than that, Hybrid is a nono!

Wrong section, and to answer your question, It has to be a pure int.
The way it was made, with the life control buff, its meant to be pure int, if you think a little you'll come to the conclucion there is no way a hybrid wizard could be good.

Hmm, you dont have to be full int euro wizard. Although, euro chars only have one atk types, it doesnt mean your char is worse of being hybrid. Investing str points to increase the wizard's lifespan is perfectly acceptable, if and only if it does actually help you survive better (without sacrificing a large loss of mag atk damage). Other factors that can help you survive better also include having a cleric on your team, and your play style, and the battle conditions.

I dont know the calculations for euro char defense (how much does stat actually contribute) or whether the protector type is biased to a particular defense type. But since adding str does increase your hp, its a possible remedy to your problem, although you need to analyse this decision further.

Its the same with some chinese char players going hybrid int. If you compare the two civs, euro wiz does more damage at the same lvl (cf a chinese pure int nuker). So a chinese char hybrid int might not get back the phy damage increase in their atks if they only nuke (thought they can tank better) so the same logic applies.

Stat balancing is a personal choice, and should reflect on your play style and preference.

NOTE: only if it does actually help you survive better by this point I mean if you had a full equip +5 max blues and a 1:1 hybrid euro wiz, and you still get one shot by other pure int euro wiz, then going hybrid was the wrong decision, as the outcome is still the same (no benefit for you). Maxing out your damage would be the way to go here. Again, I have no data to back up if going hybrid will give you any benefit. This is just my 2 cents.

very well said 8)

i know its pretty much a personal choice but i just have a hard time going along with what i wanted to do (going hyb). since there really isn't a guide for such build think i'll stick it out going all int.....................for now.

Thats perfectly fine, if you decide to go full int as a euro wiz. Just understand the limitations of your build. Dying alot is an inherent weakness of your build, and does not necessarily reflect on your skill as a player. Hope you have as much fun playing your char as I do with mine.

IMO the problem with going hybrid with a wizard is that you aren't ever going to be dealing physical damage. I know the reason why you add the STR in the first place is to get your HP up, but I don't think its worth the damage lost. I would much rather be able to 1 shot mobs 7 levels above me than one shot mobs 3 levels above me and have an extra 1-2K HP. In PvP you'll still get 1-2 skilled and in PvE you'll get hit more kind of defeating the purpose of the extra HP.

Learn to think outside of the box. There are TONNES of possibilitys for builds. I, for one, are currently a 2:1 hybrid int cleric, wearing armor. And I'm loving it. It doesn't matter if you're weak, just have fun and you'll be fine.

there are alredy hybrid wizards and etc trust me man its not worth it just to have a little more hp to sacrifice the one thing that keeps you strong
that 1 extra point for your int matters ALOT with a euro...

A hybrid would only defeat the purpose of a wizard. I thought the one attack stat(magical) was a clue that they wanted you to go pure. A wizard is designed to mass kill. Adding points into str reduces your ability to mass kill targets. If you need more hp you have alchemy. I have a friend (52+) who grows about a level day soloing as a wizard. He rarely dies and he's pure int in garms with no blues on his gear.

As a wizard, you would probably find the recovery division skill of a cleric more useful than wearing light armor.

sieorusly i dont know when ppl are going to stop thinking euro characters and chinese are the same sigh** going hybrid is a bad idea all u gonna do i make ur nukes weaker and wizzards have the strongest nukes in the game(chinese is a class to go hybrid not europe)
u are gonna see it in the long run going hybrid is a bad idea its only going to add some hp and make your atacks weaker
my opinion get cleric subclass for heal and i think theres a buff that stays on when u switch weapns i forgot the name or just pimp your whole gear

I am wizzard with warrior sub class , but no skill on warrior, only masteries for using heavy armor.
I have som and sos equip . Yes it was damn expensive but finally worth.
I am slow but al equip have int and str +.
I make a level every day, and i die like 2. or 3 time a day.
I use to play only 3 hout as my PT allow.
I go full int, and no moob until my level can kill me.. except party giant = my level.
Is hard to run like this and i spend tons of money on scrolls and drugs of wind.
BUT IT WORTH.
I LOVE THE Damage that i do.
Love u all. On Olympus

As a wizard, you will die...often (especially if you're an outcast and don't have a grinding party that wants you, simply because you're a wizard).

Wizards are the hardest hitting INT chars in the game...your INT and ability to 1 hit mobs is your saving grace! Here's a test - Before going hybrid, get all of your gear blue, HP bonused, and +++ - that should keep you from feeling the need to sacrifice your build by adding str points. :)
