Need some opinions

Post by nightbloom »

I need some input. At SRA Forums I have modded the forum a great deal. I have tried to find a solution to every single forum issue I could possibly think of. Aesthetically, it has an alignment issue in the last post column because it reacts to the length of the posts and isn't a static width. It's been such a minor thing, I havent bothered to try and fix it, but I will.

So, if you could fix ANY forum issue, visual or even functional, what would it be? Not an issue with mine, tho any input would be appreciated, but any issue with any forum at all.

The issues I have addressed already are: Passive auto embedding of media, auto resizing of large pics, auto search on thread title for similar threads (really cool AJAX thing), interactive photo gallery and guides database, reactive announcement, blocked large sigs both uploaded and IMG tagged and a karma system (which is my least favorite, it seems kinda worthless. lol)

Are you talking about the fixed width column being different widths for the last 2?

If so that would be a quick fix. Just get into your index.php and set a fixed width on the table, if your text would take up more room than that width it would just wrap.

If you do that, I would also suggest setting the width of the other cells, so that the sum of them reach the width of the container so you don't have any other alignment issues or stretching.

Beaver just hasnt gotten around to it yet. Cosmetically, it needs buttons added to the nav bar as well. Simple stuff we havent gotten to yet. There is still a serious coding error in the gallery. We ended up having to shut part of it down cause it was sending about 30 error emails a day. lol For some reason, it isnt pulling data from the forum member list properly. We havent figure out why yet. The lines in the error messages appear to be perfectly normal. We are waiting on more experienced ppl to get that part worked out.
