Ive got both sets, garm and armor but I prefer garms. Snow shield is more than enough to help me tank in pvp. If you go jobbing, wearing armor is a pain bcz it is too slow :S.

lol you got me wrond, garms are worn by s/s to survive mag mobs while the shield makes up for the lost def and you have less mp pots concumption and a superior running spped incase your facing yarkan or runnign as a thief :D

Why would a pure int with garms fight Yarkan? What a one shot kill right there.

Dont job with garms if you are pure int. You'll die xD

not sure how i did that if i died in "1 hit" b4 snow shield came out too...

I don't think so pure int with garm= means u runs faster which comes in handy when ur getting beat on by multipule enemies + plus ghost walk means u can escape enemies with ease plus that mana save buff will save u alot of mana so u can fight longer without the usage of pots.

Marce, you are level 69, therefore I do not consider you high level. With that said high level players (INT or STR) use garms when they are farming at mage/shaman, due to these monsters using magic. If you are an int spearman with garms, good mana shield and the bloody snake storm you will get hit for 1-100 most of the time. This saves alot of gold on pots.

Obviously the different types of clothing have there pros/cons. I use protector because it has a good balance between phy and mag defence. Where as garms or armor lack one or the other.

Pure str players matters less what they wear. Their hp is high enough to enable them to tank anything.

Pure int players die alot, no secret there. Unless you have really good equips, you will die alot. So it isnt correct to say pure int should wear a certain defense type, but they should tailor their defense type to their objective with much more scrutiny compared to a carefree pure str player.

So it really depends how you wish to spend your time as a pure int. If you find yourself pvping more pure str chars than int/int-based, then wearing armor (or prot) would be better for you (ie Metagaming).

It's easier to run with. =P And for grinding, unless it's on nachals (70-ish) or mages (74?) you probably shouldn't be wearing garments. However, one of my friends is 78 (or 79 or 80...I forgot >.<), and she always grinds on the mages since she can 1 hit kill them, and one hit killing = faster grinding than anything else. Also, party mobs for a pure int = death.

lol I don't think so ^^

The amount of MDef you get from Garms far exceeds Armour/Prot while the PDef isn't a huge amount lower really, not to mention the speed + MP consumption bonuses you get from the set.

if you farm at the right places you wont die as much, the best way to lvl up is to kill monsters lower then you. even if you do waer garms you need to know how to run away when you dieing or even ghost walk away.

only crit kills me

Same here. But its rare. I mean 1 crit doesnt mean i die. It has to be at least a 2.5k + crit to kill me

Simple, couple of reasons why and people have listed them already :

Garms provide more Mdef then armour with Pdef.
Garms for training at mages/shamans.
Garms look way sexier ;]
Garms have the speed and mp reduced bonuses.

I adore garms ;]

If they dropped Fire like most pure ints do lately and are Ice/Light there really is no point of armor. The Ice protection would make up for the garment. And Garment owns in Pvp's.

i am a sword/shield nuker with 3 pcs sun garm, but even before i had sun i wore garment. i've gotten to try an equally pimped armor set, and equally pimped prot set, both with sun pieces. even when my phys def was higher in the armor, i was hit harder by str than in my garment. i think garment has alot of hidden agility that isn't showed in stats.

and if you have an INT char, no matter what gear you choose to wear, a str's crit is still going to kill you, even if you're wearing armor.

so you ask yourself the question: "do i want to get owned by str's and int's, or just str's?" ( not that i get owned xDD)

What lvl 65's can you kill? Again, not dissing or making fun, just geninunely curious. I can't see that char matching up well against any other build unless you have just godly gear.

whoever said you die in garms is a moron.
you pretty much stand the same chance as someone in armour phy wise coz INT use the ice buffs. thats 55 phy defence.
anyway INT can use more moves so we dont have to MP pot like crazy.
not even HP pot like crazy.
i can kill 4 NPC theifs lvl 18-21. with only 1 hp pot. small.

Im sorry, but 8D female garm for pure int looks amazing.

20% more run speed.

20% LESS mana consumption.

Magic Mobs.

For pvp though, use protector/armor :P But it seems like alot of money to spend for 2 defense sets...

Garmet ftw though if you can 1-2 hit mobs with lightning splashes and good BR.

every attack has a mag component to it because of the imbue being mag based, but not all attacks have a phys attack component (nukes)...thus i dont think anyone can call int in garms noobs. That being said I have worn armor/garms and prot on same int s/s and have to say i like the prot the best. Fighting a similar build in garms is obviously alot harder but it still generally becomes a pot battle. When fighting str though the small difference in phys def is actually quite noticable, and I can pvp alot of similar lvl glaivers without using mana shield.

Its all a matter of personal preference but i find there are alot more glaivers then pure int s/s in garms so I find prot more useful.
