Lvl 60-70 Archer Useless???

Is it true that a Lvl 60-up archer(Pure str) is useless in PvP? That it can't beat any of the other builds?

Well i have never realy seen a bow in a fight except when they r 64+ with +5 bows one shotting me (venting ) but im sure if one is played correctly they could kill another pure str build there lvl and have a damn good chance against pure ints.

depends on group pvp or 1 v1

archer is prob better at group, wheres in group, bladers cant kill anything

Someone in another forum said that high lvl bow users can't even kill a blade or glaive user that is just standing around.

"hrmm jus to say a bow cant kill at high lvls..come lvl 70 or 60+ and see for urself..a blade and glaive standing still not doing anything the bow cant even kill.. lol =X .. and the cold is useful? sure? come fight when ur abv lvl 60 better if lvl 70..glaive and blade kills bow dispite the cold due to the auto pill now..the pills take immediate effect and it does slow for abt 1sec..but that time cant allow u to heal the damage that is deal by blade and glaive..especially blade with 3 knock down and triple stab which even with cold u also cant use since ur on the floor..and for glaive the damge deal on u is far more than the pots can heal in tat 1 sec..and don forget ghost spear mars is a immediate skill after after soul spear truth..there is no garantee he will get freeze in between this 2 skills..frost bite doesnt help to stop this 2 skills together since now there is auto pills =D.. and anti devil 3rd bk take the longest time to charge.. in theory the cold is gd to freeze and frostbite.. but when u put in practical use.. it is nothing due to the auto pill.."

I also observed that once the skill of a glaiver is activated (to initiate a last blow), even under frostbite status, the ice weilder can't move, not even attack. He is there just waiting to be owned. This observation I have while pvping and watching pvps made my decision to go fire stronger..

*Anyone who has experienced the same thing? Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I cant say either way yet. But I can tell you

Several pure STR archers I know 60+ are switching. och switched to blade, bizzle is switching to glaive.

Im archer too

Also, when strong bow crits, it would kill a mob my level in one hit.

Not any more. Getting harder and harder as I level.

Not looking good, the future is.

Myself? I cannot switch. I am a hybrid. I will never be as good as a pure STR blader or glaiver. Switching would just make me a weak character.

However, I do see 64+ archers owning 64+ ints regularly. In fact, I kill a lot of ints my level, easily. Specially spear, cuz it cant get the 'lucky block'. Go spear kk thx.

Dont get me wrong and be detered from being an archer. They are great for war, gate wars, and doing jobs.

The ability to nail someone 20m away is priceless, especially if they are running

Whether or not you wanna stand 1v1 and pvp someone is preference I guess. I started D2 as a pike-azon, but eventually switched to bow-azon. Which is my same thinking in SRO.

Well, I think bow isn't that great as pure str. I made my bow char as a hybrid/ice. I <3'ed it.

I think bow is a tad bit to slow for pvp, especially some of the skills take an extremely long time to even cast.
I've seen several korean and taiwan videos from their forums with bow users being killed by naked Bladers and Glaivers.
While it is true that they do well in groups, I have noticed in large scale job/guild wars almost always both sides from the kor/tw servers have 0 bow users. I think this might be due to pure str glaive/blade users combined with nukers being a more effective team.

all the bowerboiis go with ice and because bow isn't really strong they weaken it more , only freeze but wont kill...

That video proves nothing.
Any form of pure str will last a while against two bladers(slowest killers out there), being bow has nothing to do with it, in fact a glavier (more hp) or blader (block+extra def) will have lasted even longer.

the main reason of glaive is better in pvp its not only more life
the stun is the key, stun owns everything

I'm still going to build an archer.. It's not the best for pvp or pvm but I like it anyways..

But still can't decide whether to get fire or ice.. hehehehehe...
