Also. On my [new] nuker I played around with the skills etc. Using nukes I 2 hit kill Ongs, scorpions, flowers etc. But this costs almost 1,000 MP with my imbue.
I added one point into flying dragon and one into ghost spear and with my imbue I can still 2 hit while using only 1/2 the MP a nuke would cost me.
Don't underestimate the power of an imbue, with your high magical balance it will do alot of damage. The other thing that people don't realize is that ghost spear, like shock lion shout, is 2m in range. It costs less MP and for me it does 20-30% more damage. Earlier on i've found it easier to rely on these skills.
The best would be mixing it all up so you don't have to stop while grinding to wait for your skills to recharge.
Here I took some screenshots for you:
Pure int lv34 Nuker with lv1 nukes, lv1 ghost spear, lv1 flying dragon, lv7 shock lion shout, book2 level 4 fire imbue.
Fire nuke + imbue:
Lightning nuke + imbue:
Ghost spear + imbue:
Flying Dragon + imbue:
Shock lion shout + imbue:
imbue with a normal swing:
Someone should write a real guide, not some bullshit thrown together in 5 minutes for some cock points.

I'm a full int sword user...I have 20 points in sword so far but I don't even swing it now that I nuke everything. However I do take hits and use the block passive (shield protection).
My question is, should I level the sword tree to 30, 40, or more JUST for the block passive? How much of a difference does it make to your blocks? Currently using an 18 block shield with +2% block passive. Does this mean my shield is functionally 20 block now?

+2% block, to the best of my knowledge, means it gives a surplus of 1/50 chance to block to the chance that you already have. In otherwords, personally I don't care for an extra 2% that will help on every 50th hit. I rather get a HP boost that will always help. For that reason, if/when I switch to sword/shield I will not be putting any points into it, instead i'll have a lv60 HP boost.
I don't see me switching any time soon though, the flying dragon and ghost spear are almost nukes themselves.
