On your style, in general, I would suggest less exposure. It seems like a lot of the bang that goes into your work comes from layer styles. Try working with the colours a bit more, try to get your pieces more refined.

You should never have to say that one of your pieces is rushed; when you do something make sure you take your time and do it until working on it any more would be defacing it.
