Post by BrokenSaint »

Well, I got a little tired of making sigs and I thought I could do a much larger piece of art. So here it is. :)

It's ok, but yeah, the lighting needs work. You can't just randomly put a lightsource somewhere, look where the light somes from on the stock/render, and put it there. Also, try fooling around a bit with blending options, like trying to put the layer on lighting, and see how that looks etc. :)

1st of all, i like the way the bg effects blend in with the tattoos.
2nd, i really like the thingy on his t-shirt.
3rd, you have some kind of light source above his head, but nowhere
in the render where you put the light effects.
4th, im not good enough to notice anything else. i just like it :P

8/10

I think you might of overdone it with the "paste render use brushes".

That's usually only used in sigs because their small size doesn't make it overwhelming.

Well I got a stock and did what I could with it. The only brushing I did was the light source at the top or is that what you're talking about?

I'm talking about the technique in general. The style of just adding random renders and using downloaded brushes. That doesn't work on sizes bigger than a sig.

That's also why I suck at sigs, and much better at larger pieces.

Oh, ok I'll keep that in mind, but I didn't really brush much I used the smudge tool a lot though.

Yeah, he does.

Perhaps I should erase that part.
