darkmaster21 has pretty much answered the question. I don't know any other way the next map would go other than that dead end road.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I tried going to this part of the map. It looks like a really narrow ravine...

It'll spread from underneath hotan to underneath Roc mtn. Theres a ferry in hotan that takes you to islam.

Islam isn't just one town, so it takes up a large area, not a little space like 99% of the answers are.
