You have a severe lack of depth as your lighting is washing out everything, your focal, bg, everything. I would recomend some tutorials focused on depth and effects. Goto http://www.tech-gfx.net and check out their tutorial section. Please go look for yourself and if you doont think youve found something that fits what Ive recomended I will pick a couple out for you. I do however implore you to search for yourself first.

Also I dont agree with your choice for BG color/effects. A troll with blood red eyes generally doesnt complement warm summer sherbet colors with swirly flowy accent lines.

I don't really like it, sorry. The colour-scheme is so-so, and I can't really see what youve put in as a render. =/
