Ok, I just sarted a cleric in mercury. It's fun and stuff lvl 4 now lol.
Clerics can't tank, they also do low dmg. then what's the point in making a cleric ?
you suck in 1 vs 1 pvp, so it's not fun. but it is fun when you're with a group i guess...

what do you guys think ?

Clerics is the most essencial player in a party just because cleric keeps their hp to the max!


And i dont know if cleric sux at pvp.

Honestly i only lose (sometimes) against rogues using xbows.
The rest i really do well.

And no, they aint weak, the have the strongest skill in the game: Offering, and Pure Offering.

at lvl 45 when i pvp i go: bless spell (great defense, best one), healing cycle, and the rest i can cast a couple of skills and etc etc etc, OFFERING.

Clerics can defend themselves because they heal at will.
Of course clerics dont have the damage a wizard has, but at least you can heal yourself and cast a good defense, so your opponents wont do that damage on you, meanwhile you're hurting them with your (i agree) mid attacks, and if you want them dead with extreme damage, go Offering.

its not meant for tanking..clerics are meant for supporting the tankers and casters.

You can create a cleric with nothing but STR that can supposively "tank" but what will be the point in a tanking cleric that cant keep his group alive because it doesn't have enough MP to help...all your skills will cause to pot more than usual =/

Hybrid Cleric would be the mid ground where you can take a few hits and also have nice MP.

PVP wise, im not sure. Like Amelie said, Cleric has highest dmg skill in game, but you dont get Offering skill until 40...blah

Cleric like I said is a supporting class. So if you want to be a helpful person in game, then pick that...if you want to PVP i suggest getting another class...but its all about how you build you character in the end...

I like playing a cleric It's fun, only downside is finding an item share party, that part drives me crazy. Even if you make one people just leave.

thats true...sometimes you may get in a party where someone just GIVES you a item they cant use...

Sir, I totally agree with you.

Clerics are a supporting class. And it feels good when you get random pm's from people asking you to join their parties just because they really need you.
Clerics arent meant to PVP me thinks, but when they do, they can do really good.
When i created my euro char, i wanted to be a supporting char for the rest of people, healing them, ressing them, buff them, etc. That way i would help my friends and my party, and i'm still joining it

clerics have the best buffs, they can make an average player unbeatable against a sun player, i dont have to mention how important they are in parties but cleric suck bad at solo grinding, i wear all npc gear and at lvl 49 and 42 rod i had problems fighting bunwangs, with a chinese char i would never have problems killing green mobs, but this is worse becos green champion mobs and giants can actually kill my cleric. offering is a very powerful skill but need 100% hp for it to work also u gotta be pretty close to ur enemy, almost within melee range, as soon somebody hits ya (and u dont block) the skill is canceled and u have to wait another minute for it to cooldown

healer are one of the most difficult task to play in all mmo... you have to watch for 7 other guy+ your position and your mana...

Amelie, I'm a level 27 Cleric without a sub-class and am thinking about taking up wizard for those annoying times when I can't find an item share party. I've went 2 gap all the way to 27. I'm just wondering whether you would know what gap I should take for the SP I will need to take up wizard also?

well i dont have a sub class (and i'm not thinking of gettin a sub class).
I think having two classes is like ....... if you know what i mean.
If you're a cleric, you have to convince yourself that your goal in the game is to save other people lifes and of course yours.
As in for the SP's, i keep a 3 gap so i get a good amount of sps when i go out with a party and grind, and so far that's been enough to max my skills (i'm lvl 45 with lvl 42 mastery - maxed).

And as in for the item share party, just remember when you get in a party, check if the party is set with the item share thing, if so then you're good. If it's not then ask nicely to the party leader to set it share, and if they decide to keep it selfish, then just leave, or let them die and go like "aw sorry, i lagged" (be mean!).

I know the feeling of not finding parties at all, so i just wait till i find a good one.

Cleric is a cool build to play cuz it teaches the others about sharing and also playing to help each other, and of course to have fun.

Hehe, I've let so many people die in item dist I actually get a giggle out of it. I'm lucky I have a high level char so gold Isn't necessarily an issue but I still think we are entitled to loot.

For example I found an item dist at DarkWolfs the other day and they already had a cleric. I asked her why she hadn't left the party or asked them to change it. Her response was "they all gave me 10k each" 5 minutes later the strongest tanker got a sos axe from a party mob I left party and just went back to solo grinding.

I actually think JM should make it so Euro chars MUST Item Share, It'd make life alot easier when I'm on my cleric.

That's why you have to grind with people you know

if you dont know them, then negotiate before grinding.

SOOOOO WRONG cleric is the 2nd one that can pvp good they got there own autopot healing system and defense/mag buffs

iam lvl 1 30% hunter right now cleric killing ppl higher lvl or 1-2 lvls below me or same and iam telling you some ppl stand there and just look at me in amazement being able 2 tank 3 lvl 42 when iam lvl 44/45

Clerics are a lot of fun, and they are great if you know how to play them.. Don't think they suck at PvP. They can be Killer.. O and probably most importantly, they allow me to take SS like this..

But if you keep wizard as your sub and only lvl up ground and fire or ice and fire, would that work ? cuz you don't need that much sp to only lvl up 2 attacks, I'll skip the non-attack skills from ground and fire or can i better lvl up bard skills ?

ya too much sp unless you really like to farm to multi class plus the cost of it.

Why has no one mentioned over heal/ glut heal, at the point it upgrades for the next 2 lvls its enough to 1 hit any on lvl pure int, then it does fall behind untill the next upgrade, no it won't take down a pure str on you unless you combo out of it, i suggest starting with it because its a slow attack then follow thru with faster ones, clerics own,

If you are sure that you're not going for a "full" subclass, consider at least leveling bard for it's most basic buffs since they will make you a better cleric (Noise + Speed). It's easy to res someone who died on the way to your parties grinding spot if you don't have to avoid aggressive mobs.
