That's the thing that I think the older SRFers have against us. Members like me and a few other of the new members that've joined after March 2007 - (I think we could be considered part of the newer generation), quite a few of us have over 1K post counts. The thing is, I just hate it when people think all we do is spam to get that many, because truth be told, all of us that have that many post counts are always trying to contribute and help, it seems. I rarely see us spam. Atleast that's just my personal opinion of myself, and people like Meow, Shadowman, Rainigul, Ito... etc.
Besides, most of us have either lurked around here for quite a while, or had an old account and lost the password. I registered here on my old account at around June - July 2006, quit SRO and SRF a little before December, and then came back at May.

Same opinion, but most of the new members are idiots... no offence.
They need some time to adapt. People that have been members here for a long time grew a circle of trust and respect.
Having new members tends to give the older members the impression that the circle they build needs to be defended.
Maybe with time they will show their true colors, i hope so because it's always nice to have new blood.
And those that want to behave like idiots, will encounter their rivals soon enough.

Agreed.
Every forum is different. What's allowed on one, isn't on the other.
It just takes a while to figure out the 'etiquette' and it also takes time until people know you and you can blend in with the rest of the community without being labelled as that 'new kid'.

as the population grows larger, more opinions need to be address, which is normal
and of course when a population is small, trouble makers are less common, but the rate is teh same
e.g.
9 forum members +1 flamer = 10 people = 10% trouble making
90 forum members +10 flamer = 100 people = 10% trouble making
900 forum members + 100 flamer = 1000 people = 10% trouble making
the rate stays the same but as the forum grows it seems like more people flame, but in the mean time more people are good forum members as well
Humans tend to focus on things that looks bad rather than things that looks good
P.s. can I be in the timeline too?

The above which you stated is correct.
And i think that some members need some extra motivation and structure to remind them as to what is really important.
A good community, because a good community could withstand them with ease.

This is a Silkroad fansite.
The state of the forum is directly related to the state of silkroad itself.
Compare silkroad now, to what it used to be.
Apply that to the forum too, and you have your answer.
Silkroad Then: Killing Tiger girl was fun =) Isy was an hour kill if not more and took half the server. Global chat was a rare treat you could only get at Christmas. The game was totally free to play. You could log in any time you liked. There were little to no bots. I never even saw a bot back then. Someone botting was a HUGE HUGE story that would be all over the forums. Someone being hacked or scammed was an EPIC event. It rarely ever happened and was unheard of. And the game was a lot of fun being around your friends. Leveling to 60 meant something, it was an achievement. A status symbol. A goal. I love that game.
Result: A nice fluffy forum with polite people enjoying the game.
Silkroad Now: Uniques don't mean shit. Twenty capped players will come kill tiger girl and laugh at the nub who tried to get her. Post on the forum and no one cares. Go away with nub unique. Global chats keep your chat box rolling, with "yo mom **** gm bot asshole free gold scam account buying silk botter". I can't even get in the game. I typed that Farking image verification like 20 times and gave up. I spent so much money on silk its Farking ridiculous. All so ya can go outside DW and get smacked down by bots. You couldnt even find a spot in the caves where there wasnt a bot. They were "par for the course" and no one gave a shit because reporting them does nothing. Being high level / capped doesnt mean shit because EVERYONE is high level and capped. So many botted toons its pointless. People get scammed every day, its now almost "acceptable" much like botting. Once your capped theres nothing to do but farm skill points, or make others miserable in jobs. Thats all. I spent so many hours just "standing around" donwang doing nothing.
Result: People who act on the forum just like they do ingame.
So what are people holding on to?
The way the forum was? Or the way the entire community used to be? Because its not like that anymore.
You know the game has drastically changed. The forum will follow.
