I was wondering if it was neccessary for me to SP farm?
In my case, I'm a Fire archer, so thats only two skill trees; Pacheon and Fire. Would I need to SP farm or will I have enough SP to learn the skills I need?
I would SP farm but I just want to know if I have to .
i say you won't have to SP farm but i'd keep a 1 to 3 gap so that you will have enough SP for sure

Dont listen to him!! You should hear other people's opinions.. like me! I think that you should deffinatly farm SP. It does not have to be a lot but at least something. My suggestion is to farm around 10k. Then, with that SP you can get every skill you want (YAY) up to the mid 40s. Then you will want to farm some more SP, because most of your SP usage is going to be from Lv 45ish+.
antix is right...you should farm 10k at least, then lvl with 3spg+...but the faster way would be to farm 30k at lvl16, then lvl with 0 gap...it will last you to lvl60+(only if you are going 2 trees)
no not faster well at least nuntil 6X some1 did a study

Fine for how long? *Scary Music* You can be fine if you leave a relitively large gap throughout all of the leveling. It is just my personal preference to farm, level super fast, farm and then level fast.
It depends do you want play for fun or get pissed off with farming... If you want uber build and max out all skills then farm but if you want just play for fun, then dont... Choice is yours. But sp farming is anyway usefull.
if you want the play for days/week/months killin the same NPC and makin your char good...then yes...but if you want to have fun and enjoy your time...then no...BUT in the long run (if your goin to play for long) its a good idea to SP farm...well atleast a decent amout at what lvl you are atm...
the study showed that the time you spend on SP farming and then level to 6X
was roughly the same as farming every 10 levels
ill try to find the topic ...
If you only have 2 masteries, don't sp farm and keep a 3 level gap - you'll be fine.

bandit archer 200 sp , 1 hit kill , at lvl cap mobs dusnt come even close with killing time vs sp
There's plenty of places to farm along the way. At L52 at ishades, I was getting ~250 sp exp from one kill - with gold time it was just under 1.25sp a kill (with an 8 level gap). The best sp/hour I acheived was just under 600 sp/hour. I averaged 525 to 550 sp/hour (with 7 level gap). I also had the advantage of getting (much) higher level drops, which are worth waaaay more than L16 drops. Lastly, the experience I gained was actually worth something, as I don't delevel.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Bandits *is* the best place to farm *if* it is not crowded. However, there are other places to farm which are nearly as good (sp/hour wise), and they have the advantage of the drops being worth more. By not spending a month a Bandits you also "even out" your progress through the levels, so you don't find yourself leveling too fast and not being able to keep up with purchasing your equipment (unless you want to buy stock crap).
Bandits *is* good - but its also the most overhyped thing in the game.

Actually, if someone has just 2 masteries, they probably would just need to maintain around a 3 level gap and they would never have to sp farm.
Just 2 masteries, I'm a nuker and I have only Lightning and Fire and I need a lot of farming. If you are pure STR you need 3 masteries. The weapon tree and 2 elements. It's cool to have some Force powers they also help a little bit. I can have only 1 mastery (even none ) what character I'll be then.

Your going to SP farm in this game whether you want to or not. A 3 lvl gap is still sp farming, even if not much.
The real question is not IF? but WHEN?
SP farming at lvl 16 has its perks. If it's not too late, do it, even if it is for just a couple thousand extra SP. The exchange rate (sp/exp) with a nine lvl gap is not as great as others I have seen say here in the past. But what it does give you is decent sp over a long period of time. That is what makes sp farming at lvl 16 good.
As an archer, when you get to lvl 30, you can hunt demon horses with a 4 lvl gap and get 200 sp per 1-shot kill (but you will be getting a lot of xp, too, so you will not be doing it for long), and when you get to lvl 44 (where I am at now), you can buy yourself a high-crit bow, and take out white spiders in 2 hits for 200 sp per kill (with a 4 lvl gap).
I know others who did nothing but kept a 4 lvl gap between masteries. When they wanted to lvl fast, they would lvl one mastery up to their lvl (without lvling any skills any further within that mastery), then farm curst hearts, and delevel that mastery to get the sp they need. I know a lvl 60 who currently does this, and has out-lvled everyone within our clan.
It's not a question of IF? but WHEN?
Oh yeah, and FireStorm, pure str need only 2 masteries, weapon, and fire. Pure str is not in need of anything else. Lightning only provides a +parry passive, and grasswalk to the pure str, cold is useless to pure str (except for PvE, maybe), and force provides an +MP bonus for the passive. None of those are essential, and nukers are finding that weapon masteries do help in combination with their nukes, even if weapon masteries are nonessential to them.
So I think now that I'll just be farming up to 20k or maybe 10k, then at lvl 30 or so, I'll be farming at Blood Flowers. Even if it is just two masteries, I like to keep my options open .
