well, he's probabably not entitled to his own opinion anyway, hence the shitload of - !'s - and the lack of any explanation to strengthen his statement.

alright ill tell you everything that wow has...

first you got clases (warlock, shamman, mage, hunter, paladin, preist, warrior, druid.. and mabey one more i cant remember)

then you got talent points. so every class has 3ways to play it. each talent spec having unique skills and skills that jsut improve on other skills.

you got items. swords, daggers, 2h swords, xbow, bow, gun, mace, 2h maces, axe, 2h axes, polearms, staffs. with varing lvls of rarity. (ranging from most coming to most rare: white(commone), green (uncommon), blue(forgot lol) purple (epic), and orange(legendary).

you got instances. these are like 5 man dungeouns that you run with a party to get rare items and fight bosses. all instances have elite mobs which give more exp then normal ones.

mounts. which are very expensive and only come at lvl 40 and 60.

flying mounts. basicly a moutn with wings.

guilds. which is nothing but a name over yourhead.

i think thats pretty much it. if i missed somethign let me know.

now even tho wow has all that. i still like sro better, i been playing sro for a year now and theres only one reason.

.... freinds.........

Yeah but PvP has heavy penalties depending on your level and on how gruesome you do it.

There is no ress skill though.

Lol Geez D2A you didn't need to SS that up, lucky i wasnt on the vent at the time. Funny though.. Anyways I think WOW and SRO both has it's ups and downs. For the moment I'm playing wow because i wanted to try something new.. and for other personal reasons like my chars being hacked constantly back in the good ol' SRO days, also drama too. I see less drama as an issue on WoW than SRO because of it's has a different gaming environments. I guess it's who i meet and talk to. I'll try back at SRO when my addiction to Wow had dwindled down a bit. .. wow i havnt logged into this forum for ages..

Is it just me or are a lot of people flocking from SRO to play WoW? It seems many of my former guildmates and friends all moved to the evil game of WoW. I remember the gold old days, almost everyone in Vent plays Silkroad.... now this is what my Vent looks like :( :

... the complete opposite. Anyone have a similar experience with their guildmates leaving for WoW?

BTW if you are thinking of playing WoW, DON'T or you might end up like this:

Yeah. Fairylanders was an awesome guild, too bad the guild died off :(

Anyways it's much harder to grind off murder IRL and leveling takes forever since it takes like 1 year to level up.

Yeah...

I quit Aege and trying to get a Oasis character to 80. I haven't met any decent guild on that server that uses Ventrilo yet. Very depressing.

But yes, almost entire guild on Aege left for WoW. Umm, actually 100% of all "old skool" player I knew since beta 1, november-december 2005 players, all quit SRO and played WoW. A lot of them have quit WoW, but they did leave Silkroad to try it

WoW is a good game, better than SRO subjectively for me and more expensive objectively. So it's only natural more people play it. Also, there is more publicity for Blizzard as a company and I have seen so many LT ads and have never seen a SRO ad except on MMO search sites.

[TS]=Hark=[TS] wrote:yeah um.... i still stick with the fact taht its boreing as hell when you get to cap, you can raid and raid all you want but its still same ol kiling gaurds killing gaurds fighting boss, whipe, start over. gets tiresome fast.

well sry to say but you just described sro.

Dont get me wrong.. I played hundreds of hours in sro.. back in the day we could be wtfowned by Roc in downhang ;) and I really enjoyed the concept of reaching the cap legitily.
But thats what sro is all about. You reach the cap and then if you have the gold you buy the best gear available and puff you are the best. Theres no skill involved in sro. You press 2-3 buttons while you pray that your auto-pot system dont lag and voila' you own nubs!11212
The problem is that with bots helping ppl reach the only objective of this game and with scammers or gold buyers getting all the best gear this game is dead since the legit ppl will never have a chance against them.. and the scammers/botters after 1 month of owning everyone will get tired and leave aswell. (I know tons of examples like this back from xian and troy).

While in WoW theres 2 different games. In the beggining is like sro but alot easier where you level from 1 to 70. And then in the cap begins the real game where you need to raid to get the best gear. In WoW even if you buy millions of gold.. the only thing you can buy are pots or mounts. To get the best gear you must have a good guild with atleast 25 players playing good and with teamwork to kill the bosses and get the loot. The bosses on the instance-raids arent like tiger girl or Isy where u just spamm your abilities. You need skill to pass the bosses.. not only you but from all of your guild, because if you dont have you will never pass Karazhan.
Thats because bots in WoW isnt an issue. You can get one and reach the cap.. you can get millions of gold and buy all the mounts, pots for 2 years, etc. But if you are terrible at this game and your guild (if you have one) is full of guys like you, just forget because you will never have any good piece of gear since 99% of them are BoP (Binds on Pick-up).

Funny, but since i started SRO at open beta and quit, i have tried to find replacement game to play for fun after work, but guess what, i have always come back to SRO.
Don't know why, in every game i miss something to make it perfect or better than SRO. About WOW, no matter how hard i try, i just can't make myself love the cartoonish look of that crap, there never leaves me feeling like I'm in fairy tale full with kinder garden kiddies.

btw. just to set it straight. WoW looks different yes, but not cartoonish.

Ever read a comic? cartoonish, but not like WoW.

Ever seen something on Cartoon Network? Like Dexters Lab? Cartoonish yes, not like WoW.

Ever read the Silk Cartoon on the homepage? Cartoonish yes, not like WoW.

Point: Cartoons R Different!

From now on you will all say: I don't like the Different look of WoW.

god i'm such a good teacher.

Snow-white is a fairy tale, no orcs involved :P and there's a difference between a fairy-tale and a cartoon. Unless some Eww movie made about it.

Edit: Bloody hell, Snow-white had dwarves. MASSIVE MMO material!
