well maybe that dude knows who you are and he's trying to scare the hell out of you, if what he says it's true, then all your server would be hacked.

Dont believe his words. :)

Thats back when you could get usernames and password hashes from the official forums. They fixed getting usernames and I think they fixed the password hash thing or else there would be a ton of people getting hacked like there used to be.

It is your password encrypted with MD5. There is no way of decrypting the password either.

I don't wanna explain it more publicly, so if you wanna know more just lemme know and I'll pm you about it.

If it's not decryptable, then how could the server read it. Maybe the hacker who hacked nightbloom use the same way as the server does... :?

When a password is "hashed", it is stored in the database. There is no need to for it to be "decryptable". When the user types it in to authenticate, the input is hashed, and then compared to what is on record (in the database). If it is a match, then what was typed is correct, and wrong otherwise.

I understand a bit... But why it's not possible to decrypt? To encrypt something u need a special code to convert the original ID&pass to a different word, right?
So for example, if the hacker has an account with ID "user01" and it's converted into hash as "abcdef". So he will try to find the inverse of the special code by converting "abcdef" to "user01".
Correct me if im wrong.

Different concept. Hashing is usually done to digitally "sign" something. What you are essentially asking for is an explanation to a "One-way ..." something. (The something being an encryption function for instance).

The idea is to be able to "encrypt" but not to be able to "decrypt". The reasons are obvious (see my first explanation).

If you study Computer Science, however, you'll know that one of unproved things in the field is the TRUE so-called "One-way encryption function" (or variation of). Personally I don't think one can exist. But it is possible to create one that is sufficient enough to make "decryption" to be inefficient (ie, take way to much time to be practical).
