LOCKING DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEMS. Try and post any proof? I can not speak from experience, since I was not her during the early days of SRF, but the community here is appalling, even in the few months I've been around, I have noticed a significant decline in the integrity of this community. All I see today, are little kids who feel the need to open their mouths about everything that is said, but instead of warning the person and giving them one more chance, at the most the topic is locked. So the same person goes on and continues their trend. The lack of strictness will be and is the downfall of these forums. I know a lot of members that rarely leave the OTL simply because its a waste of time to read the garbage in GD. The only reason I have stuck around is because of a few individuals, and for the lack of somewhere else to go.

I sincerely hope that SRF can overcome the adversity it is facing, but with the constant flow of new members, and old that have no respect for the rules, others, and even themselves, I honestly don't see SRF ever being the same again.

Each and every one of us here is part of the problem, either you like to admit it or not. It's about me and you. We make this place as it is. The forums are merely a mirror of each of us.

Make yourself good. Don't expect everyone else to be good and make good threads. Do it yourself, and that will reflect in the way the forums generally look.


Do us, and ultimately yourself, a good and be better yourself then everyone else.

I agree with you on that, it is sickening to see the people suck up to D2A simply because he has a lot of money in the game. Everyone has heard rumors about him, very few of them being true, but once the real ones come up, everyone shoots it down because they are so infatuated with his money. I have not personally spoken with D2A, I have nothing against him either, but the followers he so obviously enjoys really peeve me off!

After reading a few mods posting "just pm a mod" instead of flaming, I decided to do just that. When I see a thread that's going downhill fast or a member or mod saying "you're gay" or "f*ck this f*cking f*cked up BS", I look for the green names and I PM. You know what? Without exception a mod has addressed it immediately. I'm the first person to get in the ring and mix it up, but they asked me not to do that and I respect that. They also asked me to PM if I see a problem, I've done that. Like it or not, this is their party and their rules. Frankly, I think if they enforced their rules more stringently, the party would be even more fun but I'm rash like that (and I probably would have been banned myself by now).

Last week I was going to take a screenshot of the GD page because every thread was interesting, helpful or humorous. It was fantastic. After a negative vibe going around for a while it was refreshing. But this week its back to "Turks suck" and "You're a botter" and individual posts are back to "you suck" and "noob."

Now if what NB says is true (she PM'd one mod to complain about a second mod and the second mod made that PM public and gave a warning), well I think that's BS. But I didn't see it myself and I haven't heard the other side so I'm not going to say. Key-J has opened up the forum, NB, and I'd like to hear your complaint.

The problem is that there's a handfull of people on these boards who grew with them, became more or less famous. Some of these people grew 'corrupted' since the departure of Ryoko. They didn't care about the boards anymore, they did what they wanted, mainly.

If you look back in old threads now, you'll see a lot of "<< >>" in signatures, this saddens me because a good lot of these people were actually good, but made one tiny mistake, and the rest goes free. Those who do are followed by newlings here, who assume this board is a place to hang out, and where you can do whatever you want.

Unfortunately this is the case at the moment, and this should not be. Rules should be stricter, and discussion should be kept where they belong.

There are people whose posts I seek out and read, there is also everyone else. I like to answer noob questions, I was drawn to SRF for that very reason in the first place. I love Ryoko and have had SRF as my main source for iSRO for a long time. Regardless of how I sound, I do not expect everyone to be smart. I expect people to be stupid. I am rarely surprised when someone turns out to be stupid. Stupid people outnumber the smart ones, so finding stupid people in positions of power is not shocking.

That being said, I have not met many people I would consider smart since I started playing silkroad. LOL This forum is not a shining example of brilliant intellect either. I can handle that.

May the old guard of SRF survive it's many turnovers of attitude and management. Viva la Old Skool.
