It is safe to exchange items/open trade with another player. Its just players can get tricked if they dont read the item to be exchanged properly and buy/or get an alternate item (could be how the rumour started cause some poor player got scammed).
There are other ways for a determined individual to get your id and password, and it is beyond the scope of this thread.
Keep changing your password, and dont share your id to anyone.

StealMySoda wrote:Well the general idea between the exchange hack is that when you exchange them that they can see your username and password by decrypting the packets your client sends them. So...if they rumors are true, you should be safe by changing your password.
I HIGHLY doubt that my client will send my user ID and password to your client at ANY point, regardless of if we're doing an exchange or not. That would just be horrible programming on Joymax's part. I seriously doubt they're that incompetent.
I have no idea if the "exchange hacking" thing is true or not.... If it was, the only way I could possibly see it happening is if the hacker had a way to connect into Joymax's databases and watch what transactions take place while an exchange window is created in-game. Then again, if the hacker can get into the database, they don't need the victim's help to locate the information they need.
So I'd say exchange is fine. I've accepted random exchanges before without a problem. Although there's absolutely nothing wrong with playing it safe anyway and just exchanging with people you trust.

I was going to make a post saying the same thing, but he beat me to it.
Your Acc/Loggin are encrypted in the DB of the servers and it only passes once, that is, everytime you log in
your password is encrypted too.
people only get hacked through database DDOS/Mysql OR they DL keylogger and "hacker" found their password.
The exchange thing is a myth. I know lots of noobs think cuz they keylogged someone, their freaking hackers now....!
