im new, help me with weapons :(

so iv been playing silk for a week or so and i have a lvl 23..... and i think its time to move on from this sword i got from the blacksmith ^_^. i know what sox and stuff is and i was wondering whether i should get one at this level. my friends who play it are always talking about "oh i cant wait to get to such-and-such level so that i can get new weapons" what are they talking about?? are there certain levels where weapons get better? at what levels should i get new weapons? help me please .

If you have the money to get to get sox then I say go for it because it will help you kill mobs faster

For your level if your talking about a lvl 24 sos sword then yes if you have the money. Also you should buy a new weapon when a higher level weapon is available to you (ex. replace a lvl 26 sword with a lvl 29 sword after hitting lvl 29) because they should give more damage than the previous one (assuming they're both the same +) and you should buy a sox weapon when a new degree is available to you if you can afford it.

New weapons come at each degree. The degrees start at these levels:

1st degree - 1
2nd degree - 8
3rd degree - 16
4th degree - 24
5th degree - 32
6th degree - 42
7th degree - 52
8th degree - 64 and so on.

In the middle, every 2 - 4 levels, a new weapon comes. Eg, for 5th degree you can get a lvl 32 weapon, 35 weapon and a level 38. BUT, they all look the same. All weapons of the same degree look the same. The higher level the weapon, the stronger it is (generally).

then you can add +++ on your weapon. think of +1 as a weapon 1 level higher.
