CSS-Tournament

Post by TwelveEleven »

K, so i wanna do a CSS tournament with all the SRF folks.. If you're intrested in this sign in here:

Code: Select all

Name:
SteamID:
Xfire(optional):

Name:TwelveEleven
SteamID:sacred89
Xfire(optional): 1211x

Rules:
1. No spectators, we're gonna record the matches if possible. No spectators due to lame TS and Vent talk..
2. No cheating (doh!), if i spot ANYONE cheating i will personally humiliate you in front of the whole SRF community and some more ingame
3. 1v1 matches

The tournament will look as followed..

Image

And so on..

It would be nice if someone has a dedicated (private) server we can use. Else i'll be using my homemade server. Which runs fine as well. As long as there aren't more than 8 players on it.. (Internet connection sux :x) But this is enough for 1v1 matches.

Important!
The tournament will be held on Saturdays and sundays!

What do you mean by lame TS and Vent talk? You don't have to be in the same ventrilo channel as the spectators.

You should do two halves, one on a US server and one on a Euro server for all players. Even if both are american, or european: that way it's fair for everyone.

If this was UT2004 I'd say yes to 1 on 1. But CSS is way too lame for that kind of match.

yea your right.. cos usa on europe servers is 90+ ping, and vice versa is 90 ping as well.. i mean, we dont want 1211's main excuse to be the distance, do we? :P

Agree: note that i'm not participating.

People who want 1v1s are nubs that have no competitive experience, and don't realize the importance of a team. They're the ones who rambo scrims.

I can 2nd that, should play vegas if you like scrims. Gets tactical if your into that. You run in head first trying to rambo you wont get far

Ok, 2v2? or 1v1?

I'll ask a mod to make a poll about it :)

YOUR idea was 1vs1 first couple of people agreed with it.

Then came Reise saying 1vs1 is bad. Then came people who won't even play, that just wanted to jump on the bandwagon and say 1vs1 is for noobs.

Keep it original plz.

Sure, but I did not change my opinion about it.. It's just that I want this to be an SRF tournament.. Besides I like democracy..

This isn't democracy :)

Democracy isn't when people who have no intention on voting try to change the system.

It would have been a different story if the people who already signed up would have said " I'd like a 2vs2 more "

actually, even though I didn't think of it then I would like 2v2 more :)

Wouldn't the same logic apply to all those that agreed on the 1v1? and I didn't join because it was a 1v1, before reise posted.

Think things through please.

everyone plays differently depending on if they have a team or whether they play single so we should make different ladders of maybe

4v4 scrim
then maybe a
2v2
and as the final ladder 1v1

ps. we SD's who play source should scrim one day.
