A Warlock's bane....

I have yet to overcome this problem as a Warlock. Bosses are no problem. Party monsters? Piece of cake. They fight and fight, but fall with time. However, that's not all that falls with time.

That was after two bosses, including about a dozen wimpy mobs that starting hitting me randomly. @,@...



Do other Warlocks have this problem? If you don't, how did you solve it? =P



Off-Topic: I keep picking up Warlock Rods. Maybe Joymax wants us to keep changing Rods or something. xD

Im quite sure hes referring to his durability which by the sounds of things, has been reduced very quickly.

Durability decreased a little to fast,you could face trouble there.

i have this problem too. because each "damage over time" skill count as 5-6hits, so your dura drop very fast

u can either : pick 2-3 weapons each grind , or add dura blue, or simplly dont use dot...

Warlocks have way too many DoT skills, do you cast them all? I guess when you're fighting party giants or something you can cast all of them but I don't think its necessary that you cast it on normal party mobs in a party.

My warlock guildy always carry a spare rod just in case. but I think this is either a bug or was intentioned to be this way.. If you used fire imbue and burned someone in Chinese, each burn doesn't take dura off your weap, right?

Really? xP...

I was sort of bummed when I found out that you can't cast more than two damage over time spells on the same monster. I had a theory that you could later cast two damage over time (AoE) skills on a monster have those transfer to another monster, select the other monster, cast two different damage over time (AoE) skills, then have 4 in total. It's too bad I'm not level 80 to test that out! =P

The fact that you can have everyone 5 meters around you take around 900+ absolute damage every second, have a 35% chance of basically reflecting 90% damage back at people, cast area of effect damage over time spells that cause various status effects, make several people fall asleep at the same time, lower several people's defense at the same time, and steal HP from 5 people around you at the same time, all within seconds is pretty good compensation for not being able to cast two damage over time spells on the same monster. xD

The durability thing is just annoying, though. It makes me dislike Warlocks a little, since I can't keep using them. I only switch to Warlock to beat party monsters and bosses on my own. One on one against monsters, Warlocks are scary. Heck, I took down one boss, then another a few seconds later. That pretty much killed my weapon, though. After killing about 6 bosses (Seirens and Seirenesses), my weapon durability was down to 27 out of 57. After killing over a hundred Seirens and Seirenesses, my Staff was at 41/45. No fair! xD

Well the "damage over time" skill thing is a status effect too, isn't it. At least it puts a buff icon under the mob's name.

yea pvp

yea pvp againunless warriors being gay and letting things hit you

coooool

sounds like a good pvp tactic

and steal HP from 5 people around you at the same time
your hp shouldnt be going down in party play 8)


all within seconds is pretty good compensation for not being able to cast two damage over time spells on the same monster. xD



kinda sounds like more of a pvp based char to me, seems cool nontheless

Guess what? I'm lvl 22 and I haven't fixed a staff or equipment. Sounds strange. Maybe a bug? My equipment or staff was never red.

That's probably because you keep finding new equipment.

Also, you said "staff". My staffs have never gone below 10 durability. My Warlock rods are always down by at least 5 durability after training for more than 5 minutes.

yeah warlock rods break down really fast.
i'm the warlock guildie milly was talking about.

just carry 2 rods with you and u should be fine for 2+ hrs of grinding...

cleric healers have it pretty well... their rods never break for healing people.. only when they do attacks...

cleric's my 2nd class... so if both my rods break.. i end up turning full time cleric... extra str/int buffs and bless never hurt.

Two hours? You got lucky. Mine went from 57 to 4 after about ten giants. (By the way... Warlocks are great. You can actually take on two giants 2-3 levels below you at the same time without dying.)

There 3 skills u cant activate all at once there is

Fire Poison and Bleed u can only have 2 out of the 3 activated

they will appear in green square on the monster when the green square disappears then u can use the other skills while haveing the original 2 skill still activated.

When i fight regular mobs i just do poison then blood flower then a hit with a wolf or let the poison kill them in 1 hit ezy

durabilty goes so low after like 20 min of killing.... :x

wait if those break down durability how come my rogue never had an issue i fighting party creatures and giants first thing i'd do is posion / bleed them, would it do the same to my durability of course i'm not as reliant on it like a warlock but i never noticed a shorter durability on them.

Also vs a cleric a warlock is hopelessly doomed, a guild mate and me were both 21 and with holy word on me, and the fact i have faith so reduced status effects and 50% chance he'll fail to curse me, while i just throw down a trial cross and an over heal, not even the tankers can usually live that on lvl. Out of 20 fights he only beat 3 times.

Casting the spells every so often won't break the weapon down, obviously. It's fighting several party monsters using only Warlock skills that takes a huge chunk out of your weapon's durability.

who cares about durability?? enhance it by alchemy or sell a tablet to pay for the fix. gee, a lot of people complaining about small stuff.

poison / bleed are status effects not DoT's or Curses. Thats why.
