Mmm that's what I had in mind. But I recall Ellis saying that str builds shouldn't be worrying about other str, but int, so he didn't find cold to be useful.

cold is the best there is actually very little difference in dmg between imbues but you will still need to lvl fire for the buffs so might as well get fire imbue instead

It depends on your build.

Full STR Bow and Hybrid Str Bow should take Fire reason being:
1) when u're 80, you will get a 17% increase in damage output
2) Fire increase your mag def
You take Fire Imbue

Hybrid Int Bow should take Ice reason being:
1) you need the extra physical defense or you die too fast
2) Mana shield is your anchor skill in PvP
You take Ice/Light Imbue

I never leave out Light for the buffs and phantom.

+1 i totaly agrree with this, id go with masteries like that...and as for imbue depends wat u want, fire for more dmg id say better at higher lvls, ice will pwn at lower lvls because you cant get imuned till higher lvls and also joymax might have made it so you cant get imuned now....some people say its a bug some say its not...i have no idea

What kind of hybrid are you? Based on what data I have been given.

If you are a 1:1 build your fire will be about 6% greater than a comparable ice imbue. Thanks to Tomiotar lvl 77.

Hybrid int like me. lvl 54 Fire vs light is 4%. Estimated 6% ice.

Hybrid STR Caseyd4 lvl 38. Fire vs ice 4%

You can assume that the % will grow slightly with level, but not much only about 2% for my character when capped.

There is also roughly a 1% variance in accuracy of the data.

In the link in my sig I actually have a few errors, and I have been to lazy to update it. I will eventually.

I need more people to help
Str builds and int builds. Even if you only have 1 imbue you can still help with critical increase information. Because with the data I have right now shows int hybrids crit higher than str characters.

For grinding purposes I love ice imbue, however I grind on orange and red mobs. If i was more normal and fight mobs closer to my level I would probably use fire or light. To kill faster or splash to aggro mobs. Though a few % difference in damage might not allow you to kill any faster.
lvl 65 4gap 84:84 bow inactive.

Ok since my planned build will end up having both cold and fire trees, might as well start with cold and farm enough to add in fire.

hm....? you're a nuker now? I thought you were strength build?

Anyways, it's just that soooooo many people ask these questions over and over and over again, and then someone takes time to write a guide on how to pick a build, skills, or in your case imbue but then is completely ignored when it'd be MUCH faster just to find the link in the sticky.

actually i think it depends on how hybridized you are. ..if you are putting a lot of points into int. .i would suggest fire or light ...if not i would suggest cold..
i say this because pure strenght don't need to rely on their imbues to add as much damage since their magic damage will be lower than that of a pure int or a int heavy hybrid. .so the damage difference will be less if a pure strenght uses fire in comparison to cold imbue
