I have heard a lot about lightning archers and how they say lightning is made for the bow. Is this true? Can anyone list some pros and cons for me?
Also...
My lvl 2x Lightning glaive is...lightning and ive been told to do the curst heart quest to redo some of my skills and switch to fire but...the cost of using the potions is to much. I have about a lvl 4 lightning imbue now. Do you think i should switch?
CrzyAzn: I'm one of those who believe lightning is better for archers, not cuz of the speed buff, but bcuz the effect lowers parry.
The reasoning is because archers have skills that raise their attack rating, and lightning lowers parry, lightning archers will do better DoTs with total dmg than either a fire or ice archer (pure str of course).
But fire is still good to get for the phy dmg buffs and mag. def buff, so it still should be considered.
i just recently started a character on oasis who is a lightning bow just for the same reason. i'm curious to see how it goes, I have made a full int character (iistrikerii) on babel who's strictly just a nuker, but i've seen other characters doing like not far from my nuke's damage, and doing several attacks, killing things as fast as my nukes kill them and stuff with lightning imbue, and heuksal skills it looks like a lot of fun... being a nuker is fun, but i hate the length of time it takes to charge up a nuke and it's getting kind of boring since it's always just the same 3 skills that i seem to be using all the time... i hate the charging time. I kind of like the way the bow combos are so fast, even though the damage is lower, the attacks on my new character are so fast that instead of nuking, you seem to be able to deal a lot of damage quickly in small increments instead of slow big increments... which was actually what i thought the nuker would be like, but i was dissapointed in how long it took to charge them up when i did get my nukes... I see why they aren't as useful for pvp, because charging a nuke is so obvious and it gives the person enough time to reach you... plus you're completely at their mercy because you can't even move while you're charging it up. so i really think a lightning bow will be an interesting alternative.
It would be interesting to see how effective a lightning glavie using chains is. Big damage with splash and the lower parry effect could possibily make it one of the best pve builds.

You do have a point, but I would say the nuker is the most effective PvE build because of it's ability to 1-hit mobs and thus train faster than most other builds.
Also, to all of the people I have talked to say that parry is not yet implemeneted into this game. Is this true? If it is what exactly does parry do to help your character, or hurt the other.
Well, glavie users would be better able to handle getting mobbed than nukers due to their huge hp. And I'm pretty sure at least lightning's lowering parry effect has been implemented, because when my lightning nuker just does simple slash and hack, the 2nd and later attacks always do more damage than the first attack (when the imbue takes effect).
Ive done quite a bit of testing on parry, and my conclusion so far would be that its not implemented. Take the time, write down a few 100's damage rounds, and check if the means differ significantly with/without parry/ar buffs.
Without writing down, observations dont tell anything. Everyone is biased to believe parry/attack ratio works (why would there be skills that dont have any effect?). It might work, but im almost sure it doesnt work the way most people currently think it does (ie: changing damage distributions).
Well, I don't write things down, but I'll say again, when using the lightning imbue and simple slash hack, unless my first hit was a critical, my 2nd and later hits ALWAYS (or when I pay attention, which is quite often back when I get bored slashing and hacking before I got my nuke) do more damage than the first one when the imbue takes effect.
