are's spear help

i've been hunting are's spear at brontes for 2 levels, and around 10 hours...
still can't find the quest item, so now im stuck on this quest
does anyone know if there's a way to get the spear easily?

im not sure, but my guess is that its just luck. same with the chinese when
you have to find the broken sword at bandits. some find it in 10 minutes,
some take hours. if thats not the case, you might be killing the wrong mobs
or need a party to fulfill the quest.

It tookme two weeks of off-and-on grinding at Ong to get manho's ring

Get a party and grind grind grind until you get it- make sure you're at the right mobs, like cin suggested.

i just hope i find it soon, because right now im really really annoyed.
i've been with 4 parties already, and most of the others got the spear, while i was grinding with them

is it possible that i never get it?

Good that you found it, but my advice is that if you are doing a quest which requires you to find a quest item drop, dont join a party. I find that the rate at which I get quest drops increases when outside party (probably cos the chance is the same when in a party, and then that chance is divided by how many people have the quest).

Well I found it on my 3rd brontes or whatever its called. I think that they are found in a certain area of the map. Like the bandit sword I did that quest 3 times with 3 chinese accounts, always found it near a wagon. In this case i found the spear near the small ruins with a colosseum like building in the middle of it (south-west of Desperado Hill).

then double check that the quest is on and that the list is white rather than red.
