Cleric

Post by MrFudge »

int or str?

full int cleric would heal and have enough MP to heal heal heal and do a decent amount of dmg to solo grind but would get assraped if it ever gets caught.

full str cleric would have low mp but would be hard to kill. also partying would be a must.
theres a skill that does "absolute damage" so it doesnt matter how much int or str u have youd still be doin that amount of damage.

so whats it gonna be? :?

I would believe a cleric was designed for pure aid and to not take damage unless the tank has had a few too many, so I would say full int for constant healing at maximum competence, IMHO.

I have a 20ish full int cleric on CSRO and so far I'd agree to that. In a weak party you will need all the MP you have to keep everyone alive. If you can't keep up the healing your tanker dies and then the rest of the party is likely to do the same.

Unfortunately they made monsters attack supporting players as well. Meaning, that even with a tank doing its job or a wizard dealing massive damage to a party monster, the said monster might end up breaking through your ranks and attacking you. But unless you are fighting monsters that you have - level wise - no business fighting, that won't be a problem if your party catches on. Otherwise you will run in circles. ;)

the thing about that is that the bard eventually gets MP healing skills for the party, which can help the pure str cleric.

also, with a good party with warriors, even if the mobs run to you after you heal someone, they can taunt the monsters and youll be okay.

lvl 20 cleric isnt enough for a definite answer, i have a lvl 23 cleric in cSro, and im still confused.

That's why I mentioned my level. So people can take into consideration, that what I say might not be worth too much. Also the dynamics of CSRO might be different in Europe in ISRO, since you most likely will have a larger pool of players to choose from when forming a party (better parties --> not so much healing required, and so on).

I don't know if you can rely too much on having that bard (alive). I guess we will have to wait for a while after all. ;)

I'm a lvl 27 Pure Int Cleric on Eldorado , and am most times really needed in my party.

I'm also still worried bout my build. Pure Int cleric is awesome with MP and I will never run out , but I mostly die like 1 or 2 hit from mobs we are fighting (3-6 lvls higher)

So If I would go Hybrid Int with putting 2 points to Int and 1 to Str all the time I might survive longer , which helps me to survive the whole part, and I would still have enough MP to help my teammates.

If I die , then everyone is about to do the same... since almost no one else have ress in my party..

Also a solution to this could be a cleric with Light armour on , since clerics got passive phy and mag defence increase spells when they wear light armour, which can help the cleric to survive.

I play a hybrid cleric, putting one point into STR every two levels.

Works fine for me, takes a few shots to be killed and my spells have not suffered much. I can still heal a pure INT char from nearly 0 HP to full with one cast. I also don't die very easily which certainly helps.

You definitely don't want to be pure STR. Not only will your damage suffer but your healing will suffer as well. The amount you heal for is based off your magical attack.

My advice is that if you are pure INT, then dont join a party unless there is another cleric or someone subbing a cleric to rez you.
