You seriously want to solo?

Im a wizard! Lokit me I can deal wicked damage but I keep dying every 5 kills!
Im a cleric! Lokit me I can stay alive so long and buff... just myself. Oh, my damage is crap too.
Im a warrior! Lokit me I can soak so much damage, but I still cant heal it. My damage aint as good as a caster either...

You get my point.
Parties in Euro take advantage of everyone's strengths. They can kill fast, have very little downtime. Last night playing my cleric with 3 other wizards I went from lvl 10-13 in under an hour. Not to mention that, but my inventory was overflowing with stuff.

Oh did I mention that party mobs really screw over a solo player?

One more tip: Join people with pets that pick up items when you have item share. They will pick up items for you too.
