i knew there would be problems d/l and installing the new client, ive look through these forums and the official one, and I still canot play, im wasting valuble PT time, plz fellow players help me.

this screen is of the current client (from fileshack) and of the file front d/l ( wich just stoped at 63%)

also the "client" that joymax gave us before the actual update did and does not work it seemed only to be a link to the torrent, was this just me ? or ?

and then finaly this...

im runing windows xp i have enough ram and space for it

and i uninstalled the old client,
i suppose i was not neccesary but i dont think i "needed" to have the old client, I mean what if i had a new pc or someone was starting out fresh ... w/e im rambling,

any and all help is much appreciated

The last message indicates that the client you downloaded is corrupt, and you need to redownload.

Check this thread http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic ... 255#622255 specifically for Sharp's link.

The file you download off of silkroads website is indeed just a torrent. When you run the file you get from them, it should open a program called utorrent where it will prompt you where to save it. Select location and hit ok. Let it run till its done.

Quite a few people have had problems with the torrent being slow, others got it fast (under an hour for me).

Pick whatever method works fastest for you and simply try again. Its all you can really do.

the torrent does not work for me, Utorrent doesent work for me period I cant d/l anything with utorrent (this client nor any other torrent) I get some kind of error about "device" not ready.

So your saying all I can Do is try to d/l the client again and again untill i get one that does not say that its damaged ? so wh would it tell me to "please reinstall the client" instead or re download the client ?

since supposedly the one i tried does not work ?

so for ive tried the one that joymax gave us about month ago, the torrent they just gave us and the 2 from fileshack and filefront im gonna try the one from the bleach site see if that works,

this is really bull i never planned on making a new euro char I just wanted to play my chinese char its been 9-12 hours premium ticket time wasted so far =/
if annyone else has any other information regarding this specific problem "Client file is damaged. Please reinstall the client" I would really aprecciate it if they would share theyr knowledge,

also once i finaly get SR installed were do i install direct x ? do i make a folder for it ? or put it in the silkroad folder in program files ?

Try to run SRO first, before installing directx. If it runs fine, then dont worry about it.

If you do need to install it, double click on the EXE you downlaoded, it will ask you where to put the files. These files are not needed after directx is installed so you can just put them in a folder on your desktop until the update is complete, then delete them.

well ellisd i just tried the d/l form the bleach site with no luck, this is what it says

I am re d/ling the client from the bleach site and the 2 from sro offcial site ( not the utorrent since it still wont work for me)

Theres nothing wrong with the file, its not corrupted. Read my post on 5th page. Hopefully that helps.
